Yes, they are.... You didn't know that? The only thing is that the Shrine got Allies and the drow need to plan right to not metagame our defenses and such and to attack with the authorization of a DM.

They can sneak close by and capture people and do many things though.. I don't see why not.

I'm down with players playing whatever they want, and however they want (within the established rules of course). And my Dwarven Defender is always going to hate Drow (apart from some incredible situation that could possibly change his out look). Same thing with Dragonkin.

Side note: when did every adventurer become so adept and educated in dragonology (or whatever it would be called) that they instantly know good kind from bad kind? I would think such knowledge would likely be rare.

It's pretty common knowledge on an isle so heavily riddled with dragonbloods.

When one in every five (at least) people you run into is claiming some sort of draconic heritage / is a dragon disciple, I would imagine it would become pretty well known pretty quickly.

Having draconic heritage and having a P.hD in dragons are two different things. But oh well, if thats the way the island rolls then thats the way the island rolls.

To quote a term;

Knowledge of what is Common often becomes Common Knowledge.

When you've had the Dark Flight do its attacks on Amia, you've had numerous draconic PC factions build up, a -massive- amount of draconic PCs playing as their ancestral subtype would require, and the like - knowledge of such becomes common. Either because a few people research it and spread the knowledge (the way most people find out), or because they can easily observe it themselves.

One would expect the specialised bards who have a vested interest in becoming the disciple of a dragon to have researched all this lore and, being bards, would be quite happy to dispense the basics to everyone interested.

Shiny dragons are good, non shiny are bad... not that hard to get, really. Doesn't exactly require you to be a loremaster.

I'd actually like to partially amend my initial post i think... after some damn good RP. Using my (real) Drow, wandering round amia forest in rags, i told some random halfling i was a "nice" runaway drow *sniffsniff insert sob story here* And he led me to the shrine of elistraee and gave me some gold! RP-wise, the inordinate amount of nice drow can lead to some pretty good situations i guess.

I still think that good drow should be rare, which was my original point though. I've seen alot of people use the ancient adage of "it's up to an individual to RP how they want." But this should be within the context of the type of world we're RPing in?
My surfacer ranger who despises all Demons/Teiflings/Drow/Duergar etc, actually got called an asshole in a tell for spitting at a drow's feet and telling them they didn't belong there... *sigh* i just think the whole good drow thing is a bit too easily accepted by uh... well, everyone really.

I'd say it's perfectly ideal. The evolution of the playerbase's decisions or lack of have molded the server.

Noone understands my Australian it seems so I'll try and re-explain what I meant. The outcome from a canon perspective that a whole server including elves would jump to their protection is not "ideal" but it's the outcome of the actions (or lack of actions) by the playerbase 3 years ago which is ideal.

So when people complain about there being too many good drow and too many elves/half elves crossbreeding with good drow, they can really only blame themselves for not killing them back in the day.
