Hello folks.
I've came up with the randomest idea for a small event to generate hate from hin towards the drow. A lot of hate!
First, I would like to ask if there is any player around who would like to be making a temporary hin PC (adult, children or old, it doesn't matter, no need to level it), to be permakilled in said event.
No torture will be involved, I promise!
Depending on the interest and the willingness of players in making these PCs, I will then start rolling this.
For now, I am shooting to run it this Sunday, since I will have a day off. I will also need to know at what time some of you will be more freely available. The more people around at a timezone, the better.
Those willing to make the temporary hin PCs, PM me your account names (or put it here) and your PC names (if they will have one).
Drow players feel free to post here your availability this Sunday, too.
Depending on the PMs I receive, or posts on this thread, I will then make the IC post.
EDIT: And, arr, we could also negotiate attempts at rescuing those hin. But first things first! How many would be willing to make a PC to be permakilled?
I believe I should add a poll to know the numbers. I ask that no-one spam it! If you're not making a hin, vote on boobies! xD

I don't mind being on either side, drow((with lualyrr)) or making a hin PC to kill off((though i do not know much on them, I am willing to make one to be perma killed if need be)).
since sunday is the weekend and I do not have school, i usually can be on all day, unless there is another event going on at that time.

Throwaway characters remind me of all those new ensigns in Star Trek. You knew when a new guy appeared on the bridge and he had a little dialogue he'll gonna die.

Oh, right! I won't give much more details yet, but it would involve capture and then taking them to the Underdark.

I don't mind creating a hin character to be killed at all. I'm free on most of Sunday, timezone being GMT + 5:30.

Speaking from a player of a Hin you should definitely NOT expect to actually kill all these "temporary" hin you are asking to be created and PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE put a time up in this topic so that the PC militia can actually respond like they would. Also these "temporary" hin should all be natives of Bendir Dale so that we don't get a huge influx of adventurers that all ndie 10 minutes later as that kills realism and frankly most the long-term hin won't care as much as if they were long-time residents that just were in the wrong place at the wrong time.

I would go in and permadie with my hin character... I realized he wouldn't be nearly as fun and RP intense as I expected, and I would gladly sacrifice for the sake of Lolth ^_^
It isn't likely that I would show up though because I currently am cockblocked by my hard drive and idk when I will get it worked out.

Oh, it won't be a sacrifice. :P
It would be something else entirely.

You hin should demand the drow players be willing to permakill their own PCs at the same time, too, if they should fall. Then see what happens.

Listen, you want replies to this? DON'T DO THIS.
The Dale is an RP hub with lots of its own drama and normal events and RP. We don't need any more hate towards drow or have you never walked into Bendir as a drow PC? Especially a non-Eilistareean? There's plenty of hate.
The random creation of characters to simply be killed off is simply a bad idea, as well, in my opinion. If you want to do capture/kidnap RP, that's all well and good, but use actual PCs--people who will be cared about and who will have the Dale up in arms to bring back.

I concur with this whenever perma-killing is mentioned/suggested in Amia.

That's included on the package. That's why I am gauging interest. I'll check here, then check with the other drow.
A single man cannot kill and capture a lot of hins. More drow will be needed. That's obvious.

Please note. This is not meant as spam. It is only a critique. Please do not hate me for this.
I just want to know if there's an actual reason for the "random" slaughter.
There was in game talk recently between my halfling character and some other about why in the world would drow bother attacking Bendir Dale, and to be honest we came up with not muc apart from the nice location between the forest and Cordor. Though, to a Drow, the local orc cave, troll cave, or even the mylock lair would be far more appropriate for the light sensitive race.
If the reason is conquest, I think the drow would need a lot motr thought behind it.
If the reason is for resources, I'm confused as to what resources, other than Fendel's ale supply, would be worth anything to a drow.
If it is just random, then, I guess there's no point in justification and I really don't think I'd enjoy playing on either side.
As it's been mentioned about the generation of hatred, yes I agree there will be quite a bit, though I doubt it will be so much toward the drow, as much it will be to some of the players that will be bragging about PKs (Not just the drow -> halfling PKs).

I really, really don't get you folks.
You complain that more drow hate or evil racism is necessary.
But when someone proposes something like that, you are all quick to judge and already receive the idea with stones in your hands ready to be thrown.
DMs, feel free to lock the thread.
I won't go through with this.

No, don't get me wrong. I personally don't complain about more evil drow are needed and whatnot.
I personally think random "adventurer snatching" is really cool, and not seen enough near places like the troll cave.

The main issue we have currently is that the Hin have ALOT of problems it has to worry about at the moment both internally with a power struggle and externally with another DM event. However, maybe when some of that cools down then this could be retried. ICly you could explain it because the militia are on high alert right now and trying to attack during that time would be suicide. Try again in a month or so, things should be cooled down by then.

Now, tell me.. why should my character, a Drow, worry IC about your city's own problems?
As for random adventurer snatching, so many players hate being captured and dragged down for whatever reason. That's why I asked for temporary PCs willing to be permakilled.
It might be that the PCs involved won't even die. Permadeath is only something that ~could~ happen.
At first I thought about using NPCs for this, but the DM suggested using PCs.

And if you all read my post fully, you will see that I told that the PCs of other hins could go to the rescue of said PCs.

Heh. I didn't so much suggest you use PCs instead of tell you to use PCs. If you want to generate RP for an area, you don't do so by putting NPCs in peril. Make the PCs feel the burn. They're the ones you are here RP'ing for, not us DMs inside an NPC.
