Was trying to figure out how the svirfneblin bonuses would settle upon a gnome to start and ran into what I think is a bug, or a glitch in the system of their stats. Here's what I ran into:

Gnome Baselines: Str 6, Dex 8, Con 10, Wis 11, Int 8, Cha 8

I then spread the starting points to give the gnome:

SP Gnome base: Str 13, Dex 13, Con 13, Wis 12, Int 13, Cha 13

Then I went in game and activated the subrace of Svirfnebling which -should- give this: Racial traits: -2 Strength, +2 Dexterity, -2 Constitution, +2 Wisdom, -4 Charisma.

What I should have from that is: Str 11, Dex 15, Con 11, Wis 14, Int 13, Cha 9
What I got instead was : Str 13, Dex 15, Con 9, Wis 14, Int 13, Cha 9

Does anyone on dev know why this might be? Can this be fixed?

Anyways one last time to line it all up:
Gnome Baselines : Str 6, Dex 8, Con 10, Wis 11, Int 8, Cha 8
SP Gnome base : Str 13, Dex 13, Con 13, Wis 12, Int 13, Cha 13
What I should have from that is: Str 11, Dex 15, Con 11, Wis 14, Int 13, Cha 9
What I got instead was : Str 13, Dex 15, Con 9, Wis 14, Int 13, Cha 9

You lose the standard race attributes and the new ones work of a 'plain human' base, rather than adding on top of what you get already.

So I should consider the baseline stats to be 8 across the board and -then- the negatives of the layer of what's next goes over top?

Your strength didn't change because base race (gnome) also starts with -2 strength.
Therefore, you switched from -2 str race to another -2 str race, therefore, no change in stats.
Same with con, standard gnomes get +2 con, and svirfs have no con bonus. You switched from +2 con race to +0 con race, and lost two con points in the process.

All is working as intended.
