Several hours ago, Amia B crashed. Of course, I immediately got back on. I was only on for a few more moments before logging back off. I switched servers and noticed Amia B required a password to log on. I didn't really care, figured it was a mistake that would be fixed in a few seconds. I entered into Amia A and the character I was just on the previous server on was nowhere to be seen.

Through my character selection screen, it seemed my character had been deleted. I tried, logging on both servers to see if the problem would fix itself. Now, here I am, hours later, still unable to connect to it. It seems to have been completely erased from my character selection screen. I have a friend who had the exact same issue, so I know it's not just me. Also, I was not the only one on Amia B when it happened.

I used the Amia Player Tools to examine my account, and my erased character still shows up there. Seeing that, I'm hoping that there is a solution.

Check that the spelling of your account name is correct

I don't change my account name upon logging in. Also, all my other characters are there, so there's no way it could be through a different account.

Amia B crashing fest was my fault. I've however not touched any character files. Just for the sake of it do a "/s f_file show vault" and see if the character lists something. Do you know if any character modification was going to take place? Such as feat modification or subrace activation?

^Wat. Please explain.

Also, I wasn't doing anything before the crash, aside from activating my portal wand. Not sure if that would have any effect.

Type: /s f_file show vault

into your chat and press enter. I'll pop a list of the contents in your vault.

Alright, well it still shows up in my vault. So does that mean it can be retrieved?

Should, yeah.

Just use the shout functions.

f_file restore filenamehere

You can either use the file number before the file name, or the file name as it appears, if I remember! Usually easier to use the number I think. Enter the same way as you did with showing the vault, of course.

Edit, Oh sorry, been a while! I was thinking vault as being archive instead of the other way around. What I said may not work, in that case. :|

Yeah...

I tried the command on the file name. When I did, I got this message.

"Unable to restore! This character already exists in the vault or doesn't exist in the archive!"

Possibly able to be retrieved other ways. Maybe wait and see if any one replies with further help, but viewforum.php?f=89 is where you can request such things (Finding lost characters, etc, the sticky on that page is more in-depth for what can be requested there).

I'm thinking I might have to request to have my character recreated and brought back to it's previous level. My friend from before who also had his character removed just told me that he got it back without doing anything, so I'm thinking the problem is just for me now.

Only thing ontop of my head that I know cause this is duplicate names. Creates multiple files but the vault will only show one of them.

We generally don't recreate characters. It's likely a case of duplicate names or something like that. Just PM me the character/account details or post it on the Leto forums and I'll fix it.
