This happened with BoB present, and she said that she would report it to the Dev team, but I'm just adding details that might help here.

I requested of a DM that I have my dragon disciple Vienne Montague have her dragon type changed to Silver as was intended. She was level 8 at the time. I'd been holding off levelling her beyond that until a DM could change the dragon type so as to not have to worry about random red wings (I'd intended to request she not actually sprout them at all), and could finally use the right breath weapon.

On getting the dragon type changed, and being booted I logged back in and found that my character had sprouted wings a level early. I suspect this has something to do with the fact she was wearing a back sheath from the old item crafting set when it got changed over. Those sheathes if I remember correctly used the 'wing' slot on the model, so I think whatever was used to switch over the wings registered the sheathe as being some other set of wings and sought to change it.

That's about all I think I can say is relevant, but i'll keep an eye on this thread in case more information is needed.

Those sheaths are still working and should not have been affected by something like this. Are the wings still present?

They still are, yes. I attempt to re-use the sheathe but I get the message that characters with wings can't use such an item.
