On Forrstakkr is the Scientific Dragon, she wishes you to bring her a book titled "How I Learnt to Be an Arch Mage Overnight!" This typically is no big deal as Mr. Hill's Bookstore in West Cordor sold the tome.

Well, after the calamity that befell Cordor during the war, apparently Mr. Hill decided the literacy game was not for him and got out of Cordor for good, taking his shop with him. As that book is an Amian custom book, it won't appear in any of the few book-loading containers or loot possibilities. About the only place one could hope to get it is a certain library which only spawns 1 book randomly out of hundreds meaning the quest is officially worse than trying to get epic loot to drop.

Perhaps loading the book somewhere on Forrstakkr would be more prudent? The quest is important as it's part of the 'get Forrstakkr people to like me' line and without it, the locals will hate you forever.

Actually, this isn't true. It still is sold in the Library in Winya. However, a race-restricted area is a piss-poor place for a quest Item to exist.

Noted for future reference.

Haven't seen any book-sellers in Tarkuul at all, so unless it's something I've missed, it's not there. To be honest, there should be more than one source of "non-standard" books to draw from than a certain library. (Especially since there are other "wild" libraries" ingame to have them come from.)

In general, it's wise to have your quest object load in the same sort of "areas" the quest comes from as it cuts down on the risk of orphan quests that become unsolvable as areas get deleted, island sink, towns get blown up, etc.

It's in the library under the Looming Structure of Guaranteed Evilâ„¢ (aka below the main building). I don't recall if you have to talk to the librarian or one of the bookshelves.
