Can't find anything extensive on aboleths; mostly interested in finding examples of their activity, the perfect would be Llurth Dreir - on which there appears to be no lore on the web at all.

If anyone has a clue where i might find them lores, please give me a hint, i would very much appreciate that. Like, any lore on those two topics i'll be happy to read.

Check out Lords of Madness. There's also an old Dragon Magazine from 1st Edition times that had a pretty awesome detailed article on their ecology. Not sure of the issue number, but I'm sure someone, somewhere, on the internet has, at the very least, indexed it. And from there you could use other internet resources to acquire it. :)

Edit: Might have been 2nd edition. I remember reading it when I was a kid, though.

You might check with Dusty though on what you will be able to find ICly. When Galenson was running the illithid plot the Lords of Madness was considered knowledge the PCs couldn't get their hands on.

Amazing stuff Kenneth, i managed to find the Polyhedron in the dark depths of the internet. Many thanks for the hints, this looks to be exactly what i wanted to find.

Lords of Madness. But yeah, you must check with the DM what can and what cannot be found. We had to go to great lengths to learn more about the Illithids. However in LoM there are 18 pages of Aboleth lore.

Yeaah.. just because it speaks of extensive lore in the books , you still need to obtain it through IC research. Which can make part of the fun of the process though.

Guys, i don't even...

With all due respect, i fail to see the need to lecture me about metagaming because i read an article or two.

*sighs* It's not intended to be a lecture, just saying this had apparently caused a sore point in another plot and the intent is to try to help you steer away from a similar situation.

I am just saying that we had to go to great lengths IC to find out additional info about the Mindflayers. So though you are free to read it on your own, unless you get an IC source of that knowledge, you shouldn't be RPing omniscience. That is why the libraries on Amia exist, and chances are, like in the case of the Mindflayer, that not even the most equipped libraries have anything on them, so you have to find another way to obtain such knowledge.

Aboleths, being even more ancient, mysterious and removed from Amian lore than the Mindflayers could be an even bigger challenge to research. IC it is not as easy as downloading a sourcebook from 4shared.

Lords of Madness is a good source. It is of course OOC knowledge.

There is at least 1 Old Aboleth lurking somewhere in the middle dark, IG.

Also, Nec'perya, the Drow town, is built in the ruins of a former Aboleth outpost/cavern which was partially drained of water.

Aboleths are naturally psionic and secrete a mucus that can help them enthrall other creatures. Even strong willed ones.

I can't really mention much else without entering spoiler territory for the Drow working on uncovering their town's history.
