Alright, looking for information so I can write the wiki entry for the Triumvir. I think I asked about it in the old lore topic, but
History: From what I understand story wise Roslefusio (sp?) created the Triumvir. Now, Tormak mentioned there has been a revision of the history in the old lore topic, but did not specify. What is the history of it now?

I'll just leave this little gem up here. Day Dreaming wrote: Halifast's History of the Triumvir.... A trip back from the forest now I make, New books, supplies and spices there to take, And stopping at the Triumvir I hear, Old Halifast's complaining in my ear, So in a bit of curiosity, I ask him then to tell some tales with me!
Now bards are bards, and Halifast is too, He told some bawdy tales that he knew, But soon they turned about the Triumvir, About the Vagabond and why it's here, And how the Triumvir did get its name, How three great places then became the same!
Before the place into the planes did go, It was a bardic college long ago, Near Baldur's Gate, it's owner's name was Flash, But with the other bards he had a clash, The fighting quickly turned to the arcane, And all was sent into this demi-plane!
But even though the buildings all were here, The famous Flash the bard did disappear, The Twilight Stage, the courtyard and the rest, This demi-plane they all did now possess, But then it was no Triumvir just yet, Just one of three into this place had set!
And somehow before Halifast arrived, Another place the trip to here survived, The library and loremasters inside, Somehow with all the rest did then collide, The bardic college and the library Together shared the square that we now see!
And then another unexpected turn, The demi-plane continued it's sojourn, And found itself in Sigil suddenly, Right next to Halifast's large family, Who ran the Vagabond in Sigil there, Just barely getting by on tavern fare!
Now bards need bars like bars need bards in turn, And soon such massive profits did they earn, That when the "Biumvir" had then in mind, To see their buildings with the bar combined, Old Halifast and Jon his son agreed, And so the Triumvir was then decreed!
But soon the demi-plane did drift again, Another planar journey it began, And all the portals in the Vagabond No longer went to Sigil and beyond, But somehow now connect with our own isle, But Halifast says only for a while!
And with his story done I had to know, Just what was true and what was just for show, But Jon his son confirmed it then for me, And said the most of it he too did see! How lucky then back home the portal goes, But just for how much longer no one knows!

This is probably off topic, but the name of the place has always bugged me. It's called the Triumvir, but a triumvir is technically one of three. Halifast's would be a triumvir. The library would be a triumvir. The stage would be a triumvir. The grouping of three would be a triumvirate. Also, pertaining to that poem... A "biumvir" would be a duumvir. Which would be one half of a duumvirate. Not that anyone probably cares.

Haha, that's true but nobody knows you have to pronounce both u's in duumvir, so it won't fit into iambic pentameter! Also, poetic license, pshaw!

Denotatively, Triumvir is incorrect usage, but those who are savvy thinkers will know why I never corrected the original designer's mistake and kept it as it is.

And one was "the Triumvir of the Traveller's League" etc. This was actually addressed in game! There is no hard written history of the Triumvir. And now after the massacre, there's no one left who would tell you the full story from day one, except maybe Jon Halifast.

It is true unless the DMs have changed the lore I and others worked on while I was a DM.

Yes, what is here is true and what Halen's player may remember is no longer valid. The original lore and concept was poorly conceived and executed and was intended to be a glorification of a former DM's pet PC. The DM team has chosen to be more considerate towards the playerbase and establish something more egalitarian that affords them all an opportunity to enjoy the setting and even moreso offers a its own uniquely coded opportunity for direct PC impact.

I may need to find out what part of Halen's memories have been retconned then, since he lived through the founding events of just about everything.

While im lurking here in this topic, is it alright if I ask a Demi-relative question?
Regarding the Demiplane of knowledge, I more often than not feel this is an in-appropriate excuse used to derrive material and knowledge from sourcebooks into IG knowledge. (Which may or may not be allowed by the DMs, Im not sure.) but just to be a little more clear, could someone describe the general areas of knowledge and the depth of said knowledge that would be commonly found in the Triumvir?

A lot of information about fire, 1001 uses for ash, how to build your own bookshelves and a copy of Fahrenheit 451.

Is that still the case? I haven't followed the restoration efforts IG, but Grymia's post in the Neo-Vodak topic suggests there's still something in the library. Is it true that practically the entire collection is in ashes?

You'd have to check in the early/middish of the Neo-Vodak DM event thread but I'm pretty sure it was only a third that was destroyed.
And by only a third of a truly immense library I mean *an entire third*. Or maybe it was 2/3.

"Over half" is the librarians' current estimate lost. Remember Alexandria, Iron?
