Me and an Amian friend of mine were discussing a few Amia things and we came up with an interesting question which I thought I would field here for a brief answer.
I know there is Alchoholic drinks which contain Elf blood, (Blood wine I think it is) and we wanted to know if there were any other Drow tastes which contained or bordered on eating or drinking the flesh and blood of humanoids?
Also, Are there any other cultures in which it makes an appearence? Orcs or Goblinoid perhaps with some human tribes?

There's Elf Blood whiskey as well? Also, I've read in (I believe it was) Drow of the Underdark that the drow generally don't feel as strongly as other races about consuming a sentient being. It's just that such beings are harder to obtain and can be more valuable serving other roles than food-stuffs to be. Essentially, drow being pragmatic is what prevents them from nom-noming on other individuals.

Drow used to practice cannibalism to cull numbers from settlements that grow to big. But they only ate the old, not the young. It probably still happens, but it supposedly doesn't anymore. They do eat other humanoids though, but not very often. They don't consider it cannibalism.
Orcs pretty much make a habit out of eating the Elves they catch. Slavery is common with them, but their slaves are very rarely Elves. They rather kill and eat them.
Goblinoids (Goblins, Hobgoblins, Bugbears, etc.) eat other people when food is scarce. They'll even eat their own kind, but it's usually the bigger goblinoids eating the smaller ones. Goblins of Chult are particularly cannibalistic.
As for humans, I'm sure there are some communities and tribe who do, but I couldn't really name any for you. I do know there has been cannibalism in the sea of fallen star isles by humans in the past though.

So is it considered cannabalism in Amia, where its not allowed I believe, for an orc/half-orc to eat an elf? Just as an example. I know many cases where a half-chromatic dragon might have wanted to eat an elf, and various other situations, but always wondered where that line was drawn. Is eating any sentient being taboo, or just those that fall under "cannabalism"?

You can say *stabs his eye* or *eats his eye*, but going into gross detail on either is violating the rule. Nothing to add to Gunz's post, though. I haven't seen anything interesting come up in any books.

Is eating any sentient being taboo, or just those that fall under "cannabalism"? I'm not sure what you're asking here. There aren't blanket IC laws on Amia that state cannibalism is unacceptable, if that's what you mean. Although, it's safe to say it's outlawed in Cordor, Kohlingen, Bendir Dale, Winya Ravanna, Wharftown, and most other settlements run by humans and other goodly races. Eating people is very much so taboo on Amia, yes. That's very likely the case everywhere else that's connected to Amia via the leylines, except, for example, places like the Underdark and the Abyss. That's not to say it doesn't happen, mind, but it's taboo none the less. The Orc settlements likely eat Elves they catch, Goblins likely eat each other and other people when they need to, etc. If you're talking about server rules, just don't be graphic, as Iron said. Graphic torture is what isn't allowed to be RPed in detail. As for definitions of cannibalism? It's relative. Some people might consider only eating other people of their specific race to be cannibalism (like the Drow). Others might consider eating any sentient being to be cannibalism. The definition of cannibalism isn't very clear here like it is in the real world.

So if I understand it in relation to the Drow.
Eating other Drow is cannibalism to them and sounds like it is quite rare and only done to cull numbers. They mustn't like people going to waste.
While eating other intelligent humanoids is done as a delicacy or perhaps in times of need?
As a related aside, do you know if Similar is practiced among the Crinti rulers of Dambrath? Their culture is heavily influenced by their underground drow "Rulers", even though they are a fully autonomous government. Eating elves for the Crinti might be a little close to the bone, as might eating their human slaves, as they are the descendants of the Orginal 112 clerics of Loviatar and the Drow of T'lindhet which conquered the country centuries ago mixed with the humans of the country.
I don't know however, so thought I would ask once again.

There's probably an intimidation factor in there too. Look at the Maori from our world's history. They had a whole pre-battle dance routine that involved motions that pretty much meant "we're going to turn you into poo." And it worked.
Drow and a few barbarian tribes might practice it for that same reason. You hear that those guys over the hill freaking eat people, you're a lot less likely to screw with them. Maybe even more than if you heard they just kill people, because of the creepiness factor.

Drow eat other people when they feel it's a good idea. It just so happens that they rarely think it a good idea. Drow are intelligent beings. They realize that when you capture someone, they would be way more useful to them and the society as slaves, not food. That's the main reason eating people is rare among Drow.
There's zero talk about Dambrath in regards to cannibalism by the Crinti and the "lesser" races that live among them. I imagine it's taboo for them though. It doesn't really make sense to me that they would practice cannibalism.
