So I was wondering about Knight Commander class and the aura feats you get from there. Naturally, I assume there is plenty of ways to explain them. But what I am wondering could you explain the feats trough magic or are they totally mundane?

Quote:
Barricade of Swords: Defensive Aura: Barricade of Swords creates a damage shield around all allies within the aura. The shields damage is 1d10 slashing damage, +1 per Knight Commander level, +1 per Charisma modifier, to a maximum of Knight Commander level.
Entreatment: Ability which can be used once per Knight Commander level. If they fail a Will save versus the Knight Commander's Taunt, the enemies change targets to instead attack the Knight Commander. Where used against other player characters, this feat simply causes the target to break their action queue and become flat-footed.
Stand down: This is an unlimited feat which allows the Knight Commander to dismiss all of their auras instantly.

About this feat I was thinking something conjuration/abjuration school based to explain it, to make IC explanation to how my character can create it. It would make sense for explaining this feat trough magic for this character. What are DM opinions on it, is it a free ride or are there some quidelines to these auras? How they are created and so on?

That being said, anyone can use this to ask about classes and feats based lore issues.

Edited.

That.

They are not magical.

I figured it would be like some sort of phalanx formation the KC instructs you to get in that allows you to retaliate for each other.

Same way the Ordnance Support isn't magical, it's just the KC telling you where to place your spells to make them hit harder.

just went a bit more harder to deschripe. No matter, still doaple got an idea already ;)

Thank you.

Edit: So would it be safe to say that the person under the effect of Barricade of Swords make a counter attack. Give nothing for free, if they hit you, do anything to hit/scratch them.

What I mean is.

Person A attacks person B with succesful blow.

Person B makes a quick strike at the person A who attacked him, dealing dmg.

Perhaps a new kind of fighting stance that allows this kind of quick retaliation.
Thoughts?

I think of a well oiled machine under the command of the KC. Sort of imagining the fight scenes from 300.

They work well together. An attack on you could be the opportunity you or your friends needed to retaliate. That, or the empowerment to not give up, acting quickly on opponents in your vicinity, always having some measure of counter-attack ready in case they get close enough.

Perhaps even counter-strikes that the KC issues when he sees the opening. He/she is afterall the leading figure.

Yes, I already got the image of bigger groups of people fighting, however, what if there is only two of us?

Example: My KC is wizard/KC. Now, I got the aura and I stand back and let my summon do the fighting for me, naturally I dont want to get squished.

I would imagine my summon to be the one retaliating and not the KC or the buddies next to it as there is none. Perhaps by the presence of my Mage knight commander, the summon is able to strike back if it is struck.

The enemy attack, lunging towards, striking my summon, and is inside the reach of the summon now. The summon strikes back by any mean possible?

So perhaps it is more like inspiration that the presence of KC gives to the men to do their utmost rather than actual stance style of fighting. Even though I admit that when there is more men, formations are the ones that do the trick. And in the end it would be combination of both. And my mage commander beng behind shouting warnings or commands for quick retaliation.

Finaly getting the grab around it. Thanks!!
