I really want to say I love how this community has created this bond over the years. Of all the things I've come across in my times of exploring these types of games I've never had such an undying and unconditional love the community has here. I won't want to mention specific names 'cause we all deserve the credit for keeping the world alive, but between the DMs and the creative players that command leadership qualities and the respect of the IG characters, what happens because of that.. the stories are great to be even a part of. It what draws me back time and time again. I so much appreciate all that has been going on while Amia has been here. I truly have a love for you all, and it brings me joy to see everyone still together after all these years. Keep it up everyone! Never a disappointment with me when I get a chance to RP with you all.

So, gotta say this here

Riptide has been fantastic, but most specifically:

Bjalfi and Peggy are gut-busting fun.

Also, I need to Shout out Leathan, for consistent awesome storytelling and goofiness.

Alrighty!

Thanks to Peggy for being so welcoming of Roach. She needed a home, and I think she found one!
Thanks to....
Effie... for being a friend to Roach.
Sel, for being competition for the sneaky stuff
Bjalfi, for being Yimmi. That's enough!
Liode, for being an amazingly good sport and for being a dick. The server needs dicks that go through to the end. You did and I applaud you.
Lyelanna, for not just forgiving Roach. I mean, it's frustrating, but makes sense.
Luthien, for sticking to the "I've been burned before" motif.
Vallawhatsahoosit, for trying to be Elven and talking Roach down from stabbing a fucker. It didn't work but hey... life happens.

Also, to anyone who's interacted with Roach or any of my characters since my return, it's appreciated and I hope I gave your character some interaction as well. If not, I will.

My goal upon my return is to be a positive force on Amia. I may falter, and I may have had some whiskey as I write this but... I love this place, and I truly missed it. Y'all are great. Let's keep on having a great time playing in a fantasy world that lets us forget about real life for a while.

And other side there are the ones who help in Jacob's growing... Almare, Juna, Raven, Aithne and others that I may be missing!

It's cool feeling nostalgic, coming back, and finding immersive, high quality role players just waiting to rock and roll with me.

Big shout out to Lyelanna, Aelythni, Alvian, Caiwynn, Killian, Darby, Mihaela, Ivan, Rosary, Wilfire, and all the multitude of cats I am no doubt forgetting who I've gotten to game with the past two days.

Man... feels good to be back.

It's frankly ridiculous that this server is still reliably a place you can rock up to and get busy making stories with other tellers.

Big ole props to the Dale mob, so that's your Roseys and Sullies, Lye'n'Liode. Mihaela for stressing out about pissing Ivan off. Whurak for being a dorf moderniser(and that truly is Runedar's ass).

Gonna single Pearl out for Rolling with the Punches as the elven handsign thing has taken shape, and also my powergaming brohan Tom, for effortlessly swapping between ruthless bossgrind efficiency and IC talkytalky things.

I've had the distinct privilege of role playing with some outstanding cats lately. Just to name a few (and by no means all):

Nakomis Wolfen for her role play as Kaci -- and allowing Ronyo the chance to discuss philosophy, history, theology, and try and lead her back to the People to which she belongs.

LibrisMortis_666 -- for playing a compelling, relatable, and enjoyable Eldathan druid. Playing a pacifist is tough on our server. It takes a dedication. I respect it!

Madam Jingles -- for getting to know my stoic, oft-cold elf a bit better (and allowing me the privilege of getting to know her everyman's genasi more, in turn). Sharing sad stories of the past and suggesting hope for the future is always such emotionally rewarding role play.

Thank you to Righteous Anger in kind! It's not very often Pearl gets to talk about her history, or things she's experienced, and it was really nice to be able to! The fact they seem able to silently communicate and have gone through similar experiences makes me excited to RP more with Ronyo.

Thank you to Freaxx for our RP between Pearl and Olivia. It was confusing, beautiful, and sad all at once. Bittersweet, but in a good way.

And thanks to Serbiris, for playing the guy Pearl can always lean on without judgement. I like that they emotionally struggle with similar things and can help push the other towards their goals.

So I've got a couple of shout outs for onngoing things

de riptide, as always on the whole have been awesome, and I love you guys.

It's been a lot of fun with a ton of you out there. Props to Velden, Tass, Kite and Sumezh (The sneakiest of bois), Papa Tempest, and Of course...

Peggy--The sides that she's shown to Selim have been genuinely shaking some foundational aspects of her baggage, and it's pushing Selim in a fascinating way. Peggy's layers are slowly being peeled back like an onion, and the deeper they go, the more It makes you want to cry.

Pearl--Pearl, likewise has been coaxing a few things out of Selim and forcing her to face them, whether she wants to or not, and it's been both amazing and challenging to watch unfold.

Bjalfi, of course is an integral part of Selim at this point and his outlook is a huge contrast to her's. It's interesting seeing how two different characters have handled pain. Maladaptive or not.

The current developments in character in this have been both heartbreaking and amazing to watch unfold.

The event today was so much fun.
Though it was intense and there was conflict, it was really cool to see how characters react to stress, betrayal, withheld information, and all that kind of stuff.

I want to give a special shoutout to Sylveera, Las'Claianna, Killian, and the rest of the crew who were there for the vanishing act. I loved the intensity, the drama, the variant perspectives.

I love the relationship that Killian and Ronyo have. They legitimately view one another as equals - something pretty rare for my sun elf, to be honest - which means most of the time they're happy with whatever the other does... and then, sometimes, they are an unstoppable force against an immovable object. They really are akin to brothers.

Sylveera is a fascinating character and one I have gotten extreme enjoyment out of my interactions with. I loved Ronyo's dialogue with her, and how the tone changed over the course of the hour.

Shout out to Las'Claianna for being the person who respects Ronyo and his thoughts all the time -- sometimes being the only person who does so. Their dynamic is one of absolute respect. It's awesome.

I also want to let it be known that the interaction between Ronyo and Gustaf today was epic -- a sun elf trying to show a stubborn guardsman why what he did was condoning the very thing he was against was frustrating, in and out of character. However, it was very much presented in a manner that was believable, and was a fun social challenge!

And Mihaela... Mihaela, Mihaela, Mihaela. Today was some of the most emotionally intense, gratifying role play I have had since I got back to Amia. Hot damn. And there's promise of future greatness, too!

Yesterday's event was ginormous, almost as big as the turtle thingy. Jes, Kamina and anyone else who had a part in creating all that... my hat is off to you. Excellent work.

To all those pc's involved... this was a major roleplay moment for Amia. Lines were drawn, voices heard, stories revealed, truths unfolded. Friendships broken, new ones formed. Sides have been taken, and I for one am curious to see how this plays out.

I'm genuinely amazed it was as smooth as it was. In part I suppose that's recent hardware - an event like this when it was normal for 30+ fully buffed epics to show up would simply descend into laggy farce every single time as 2005-era server CPUs failed to cope - but I'm going to go out on a limb and guess there was a lot of planning and contingency planning and Plans C_through_Z-ing.

It communicated the Holy Shitballs effect rather well, so I second the kudos.

Likewise the aftermath. I freely admit I'm a powergamer with a sideline in fuck-around comic relief characters, so I was a little out of my depth when it came to the politics and long-term ramification-y stuff, but you folk stepped up and made some hard choices for your wee girls and boys, and thus I say: "Mhm. That's a bit good"

Praise to Yimmi from me today. I had an amazing time getting Sythea started out with Jacob, the quintessential wizard. It was a lot of fun seeing him interact with something new.

Well a lot have been having with my main toons so...

Raua: First of all it's clear you're my geek sister... so with Bjalfi and Selim... it's a freaking good interaction, so much that might miss the eyes for the others that know the two... or that know Bjalfi, it's amazing to see how that has been developing lately and I really hope to see where it will lead.
Then we have your new Sythea, amazing character who seems to hold quite a past... I like the tutor-student relationship between them two, we'll see how things go from now on.

Dunecat: I mean, Jacob wouldn't be where he is if it wasn't for Almare... probably wouldn't even be in Amia haha! He was helped Jacob move forward in so many ways and is a powerfull ally to have, I like to think that it's thanks to him that Jacob still stands somewhat mentally healthy... somewhat.

Kronox: Kaha and Co. Man, everytime I interact with Kaha about Monk RP is a real blast, I almost feel as I'm back to my Karate lessons when they practice at the monastery haha! Now only to move forward!

To all the Riptide crew: EVERY.SINGLE.ONE (Excpet Pearl... jk jk) it's been an amazing trip so far, I think that interacting with you all is something I look to all the week. so many different personalities merged together... it's simply awesome!

And, truth be told, everyone who has giving my PCs a chance to growth and develop... also for creating such a good server, you all rock!

So, Righteous Anger:
Holy Canoliguacamole.
I'm honestly speechless at the depth of Alhazarok--He's made an immense impression on Sythea for his unique perspective, culture, and knowledge. He's such an intense, beautifully done character and It's been a joy for him to crack my little songstress's shell. I honestly can't say enough about it!

Keep it up!

Right back at you, Raua!

The dynamic, and subsequent role play, between my big Rashemi boi and your sorceress is some of the absolute best I have had since returning to NWN / Amia. I don't know if I have ever gotten the chance to really role play with you before now; but now that I have, I intend to keep coming back for more.

I don't want to give too much away about your character, as I think the discretion you use is part of the poetry of it all, but man...

I would like to thank the hin from the Calamari hunt. It may not have been deep, it may not have made anyone cry, but the roleplay and interaction between the halflings namely Da'Nask, Rosary, Sera and Wilfire was extraordinary in my eyes. Time and time again, I've seen this and I'm happy to have Taffy involved!

Is it the type of rp that makes one sit and re-evaluate their life? Possibly not. Is it world changing? No, I don't think so. But... what it is is the type of fun times that keep players coming back. The type of interactions that make your character feel like part of a family rather than just numbers on a sheet. Done well, it creates a strong social network to call upon. This also makes each character feel special, like they are needed and missed when not present. For someone like me with altitis, it's comforting and makes me want more.

So, yes, there were others with us and I don't mean any offense, but... I saw the interactions of the hin mostly and.. I can't leave out Dusk, who... at the onset my instinct was, "He shouldn't be here.", but, he made it through without too many flomps on his face, and he was entertaining!

I gotta say it!

Thanks for all the fellowship players old and new I've been really enjoying the rp as of late! I like the depth you guys bring to the table and I'm loving the feel of a good old dnd party.

Thanks to Dicey for dealing with Matt's long questions was genuinely enjoying the roleplay. Listening to him hit on ladies is a real treat.
Been loving the hard core representation Milly's been giving, and the dedication is amazing
Having told of tender intense moments with Victoria X3 Thanks for playing with me love~
I love Azier's easy going attitude and the leadership on boss runs.
Jerrand a damn good roleplay I must say a true gem to sit down and TALK about things and feel like a character and their history are believable.
Mar'ves has been doing pretty darn epic as well. I love that sneaky guy >;3 I can't wait till we work on that Vigilantee stuff!
Kuria we've had some intense roleplay and some raw visceral emotions I haven't hand in a long time and it' truly great.
Dedan I'm enjoying your easy going Sorc as well He seems to be a genuinely good guy and I wanna see him open up a bit more.
Just every one really has been making those whole experience immersive as of late and I'm so happy to be appart of the community right now <3

Special thanks to Alamare Jacob and Sythea for political intrigue as well as Velden for some shady stuff !

You guys are AWESOME!

First of all, I want to thank everyone for the overwhelmingly positive responses I've been getting about Dug. Both IC, and OOC, The respective RP and comments have made it a joy for me to play Dug. I have been loving seeing the responses to Dug's actions, and especially the misinterpretations of what Dug is trying to say in his limited capacity. Admittedly, Dug's lack of intelligence has been a hindrance in several regards, but the challenge has been worth the effort, and I enjoy the mental workout, aside from some of the frustrations (which I fully foresaw, and expected). I honestly did not expect much to come out of him, besides some comic relief, but as the RP progresses, it urges me to dive deeper into his backstory, and his current personality, which has developed rather rapidly. And for that, I thank you all!

Secondly, I wanted to let you all know that I have not been avoiding heavily grouped DM Events, and hunting parties with Crow and Dug both, because of any personal reasons. It is purely mechanical. My computer is an old Acer One notebook mini laptop, with a wifi connection, that is barely running the game as is. Solo combat is sketchy at best (poor Dug has died more times than I can count, due to lag), and places like Wiltun, Cordor, and Bendir are ridiculously laggy for me, the more PCs in the area, the worse it is, and PC Auras drag me down to a crawl. I really miss my old gaming tower computer, it ran NWN like a champ, but the nVidia card took a dump and fried the motherboard. Someday.. someday...

Anyway, y'all keep up the spectacular RP, and keep it real, in this imaginary world that so many have worked so hard to create, and maintain.

I've been able to play again stably for about a month or two now, and I don't think I can pick just any few names out for how great it's been to play with you all again. Thank you all, players and our DM team for such a great time.

A couple folks I wanna single out for some awesome RP, particularly when interacting with Pearl after Gugmug's death...
Victoria (CleverFox)
Matthew (PassionateShadow)
T'rissvyr (Mahtan Tasadur)
Azier (lilmarcat)
Velden (serbiris)
Almare (Dunecat)
Crow (Kudark)

And many others! Most of you, our character RP is fairly new as we haven't interacted much in the past, but having our toons become friends and allies and learning about your characters has been a ton of fun.
Thank you guys!

VKB as Mihaela.

It’s not often a video game tugs at your emotions. When Taffy was feeling upset at her first death, some folks tried to comfort her. Wilfire, though he was awkward, meant well. Kestrel spoke as one jaded by it. Mihaela though, picked up on her pain and confusion and ran with it. To me, that’s how an Ilmaterian Paladin would do it. I am not ashamed to say it was a touching bit of rp and I may or may not have gotten choked up a time or two.

Well played my friend. Thank you.
