To paraphrase a wise DM, things are currently very intense.
I know that some feathers were ruffled recently OOCly, and I would like to ask that everyone take a moment, take a breath, and make sure we are keeping IC and OOC issues separate.
I'm not accusing anyone of anything. I'm just pointing out how some of the recent OOC posts come across to me when I read them. And while the written word is often hard to interpret with intuition, some of the IC posts sound like they are carrying an OOC tone of frustration.
And on that note, if anyone has any issues with me OOCly then please PM me, and feel free to copy any number of DMs on it.

Since the only OOC commentary so far is mine I'll roll with that. If any DM can chime in and rule that "thought bubble" RP, or simplified; Any RP intended to provoke a response in a player that would not have the reasonable opportunity to hear it is not in fact metagamming. If that is the case I will refrain from pointing it out. However since it was an IC posting...

I just want to say, let us all remember that this is a game. Just because someone's character tears out your tongue and has you beheaded, doesn't mean they have an ooc issue with you. And just because your character in power is targeted, doesn't mean you as a player are targeted. The only way to move up in drow society is to step on, or outright cut off, people's toes.
And in the end, things might not go as well for one as they think. Trust me, I know that fact intimately.

The 'thought bubble' RP you flipped out about was used previous to your rant, then by you further down in the exact same thread (or so it seemed to me in context). AFAIK, that kind of RP has never been ruled out, otherwise at least half of the replies in public notice posts across the forum would be technically illegal.
I think you just overreacted.

@Bravo: Making a statement others won't hear is simply RPing. If someone acts on what is said, then it is Metagaming unless they are stated as having been there to hear it. We are keeping an eye on things and will step in if needed. @Zanthair: You are 100% correct in saying it is just a game. It is easy to forget that when you devote time and effort into it, but it still remains the same. @OP: The intensity of the situation on all sides is almost palpable. So many plans, plots, and maneuvers are coming to a head on all sides and some will undoubtably fail while others succeed. The important thing to note that even if things don't go as planned for some/all, you guys have been doing solid work in driving the city on your own ambitions and RP and that is commendable. The other DMs and I will continue to monitor things and step in if we see cause to do so, but this struggle is PC driven and the outcome will be decided by you all. Win or lose, remember you all are part of the same community and will continue to play with one another. Not that I think it has crept up so far, but I wanted to take the time to ask that everyone not make things personal OOC and keep the conflict and whatever results from it completely IC.

The monologues while perhaps not necessary are good as indicators towards what atmosphere characters would be permeating within the settlement and thus somewhat useful in aiding RP that related to those characters and/or NPCs related to them. Also if people want OOC lightening up of things I can always start rambling more in drow party chat!

Interesting. Things are usually intense in a Lolthite drow town. I tell new drow players to remember to take breaks. There is a lot of "looks-like-one-thing-and-is-quite-another" that happens. The OOC hassle I'm getting is that somehow Fi, the player, has suddenly decided what should be drow lore. That I am making up stuff because what....I don't like certain players?? Huh....I admit Nizzre is my first successful priestess. My first was captured, tortured and then dragged through Ultrinnan by her hair by Zanticor. All involved were great and I thought 'Gee guess I won't be saying /that/ to an Ilharess in the future.' I made so many mistakes that I finally decided my PC was just not ever going to make it until I learned more about Lolthite drow. I perma'd her. I stole a lot from Ilharessen that my other characters met. The quesitons for the Yath'tallar test are straight from a conversation with Ilharess Bree'nye Tinnerai. I thought they were so great I wrote them down. The requirements for the Yath and the tests are stolen straight from Ultrinnans Temple posting. I had copied them into a word doc to study up. The Yath tests are just in a different format. I was careful to include all the things I saw in the requirements in the Yath tests. Including a priestess must be female, pure blooded drow and get her divine power from Lolth. Your PC getting their divine power from Kiaransalee? Then that PC can't have a position in the Temple of Lolth. Your PC getting their divine power from Selvetarm? THen that PC can't have a position in the Temple of Lolth. Your PC part human or hin or tiefling or dragon kin? Guess what? Then that PC can't have a position in the Temple of Lolth. Why? Because Nizzre isn't willing to risk getting Lolth mad at her. Lolth scares the crap out of Nizzre. So, if she must be attacked on a regular basis because another PC can't manage to do the Lolthite drow thing and make back room deals or out smart Nizzre....fine. The postings OOC from me, Fi the player are an attempt to get more players involved. The postings from me, Fi the player as Nizzre are cold and calculating to get a certain outcome. Nizzre plans and frankly her trap was walked into and sprung. (And I do really appreciate that! ) Kudos to the drow players that I've had the honor of RPing with lately, it's been so fun, evilly fun. Thanks to the DM's and their awesome spider RP, for a second there I thought they were doing to cocoon Isen, lol. I <3 you guys!!

There's alot of great source material for drow as well! DOTU and other books make a good read.
And the best part is that it doesn't have to follow the book if you make it different. The temple's rules are subject to whatever they're made as because every city can be different. (As you can see Amia creating its specific requirements)
I don't think anyone should complain OOCly over such, and I don't think anyone has or is! =)
Besides, it's all fun and games. If you get offended OOCly by anything than goes on, I offer Zanthair's advice to you!..

Fi, much of what I have seen isn't coming down on you as a player. This is an IC thing, no need for it to devolve into an OOC one.
This conflict is interesting as you have a well respected High priestess dishing out what she has interpreted to be Lolth's words (essentially doing her job) and it is conflicting with the direction her former house wants to go in concerning social policy of who can claim leadership of a house (which is essentially them doing their job as well). The conflict sparks from the respect an Ilharress can demand while in the temple and the priviledges there of. Amian history would support Nizz's conclusions, yet you are faced with Miz underwent rites and rituals to enhance parts of her blood that were impure by Lolthite standards, and yet she still has divine power granted by Lolth.
This seems like the natural progression of things ICly and is in no way an OOC condemnation.

Just from history knowledge. Can this become locked before it can get out of hand. So we can leave it neutral or friendly...?
