The slim shadowy lady appears to have failed to take into account that the guards don't actually really need to see or hear anything, and given that they are undead, do not really get "distracted", given how Tarkuul operates. She is forcibly escorted to the portal and off of the island the second she begins attempting to dig through and ruin the Captain's personal belongings and reports and thus does not have a chance to really perform her vandalism or steal anything.

Now Im curious. Is there an in depth layout or manual of Tarkul and undead there? lol Perhaps a monster manual. I would assume they would have some sort of aura or rune of sort installed in them to detect all motives or Spot checks, move silently etc.. Seems like you just dropped a Bomb on this RP and has made me see that one should, I guess try to contact a specific DM and ask of going about to do such a simple RP.

HiPSing is illegal in Tarkuul; looks like the Laws sticky got bombed out, probably should dig it up and replace it.
IIRC (and I might not, so..) the city itself is aware of the actions of people within it. Its bond to the guards can direct them. Especially when things like the laws are concerned.

Haven't being sure if it was still in effect, would be nice to have some clarification on this. Good thing to bring up at the Guard meeting.

Thank you for the info Also, since it is illegal..does that mean they can automatically catch you? Is there some sort of barrier of magic or something of sort that alarms instantly of HIPS? Its illegal to pick pockets of others in a city like Cordor..but does that mean you just get caught automatically? Btw that would be really cool RP layout of a ward or magic sense to catch HIPS or other things not allowed to be achieved Again thanks for the info mates XD

Oops..Just saw the post above a bit and noted she stated the city is "aware" and can direct the guards..thats cool ..So in other words the walls have eyes even if the guards do not see such..
Very interesting A living sentient city! pretty cool

There's a little bit of info on the Wiki page in the side bar under settlements, if that helps too.

HIPS is not banned. It's an untenably enforceable ban that would require 100% DM supervision 24/7 to enforce. I told this to the peopole who tried to enact it years ago.
That said: You do not "distract" undead that are managed by an Overmind. Indeed, you don't really distract undead at all. Kind of the perk of the job there, no?
As for the IC? Find out IC.

//I did occly agree to what embraced is saying, basically to support ongoing rp.. If the undead catch her and return his belongings that's fine!
I'm fine to continue with her knowing what the poem said through memory and using it in rp at a later time, other than that it's good to clear up the hips issue.

You can agree to it, but the environment did not, it seems. Just because you both agree doesn't mean the world ignores what it would do for the sake of your personal story.

// When your in Tarkuul, think of The sentience of Tarkuul as in itself a god. >.> However (At the moment)a god with enough sentience to only follow three rules. Rules have loopholes, some you should even fall back on if you must break other rules. That is all.
Edit: Second thought, that may be slightly less relevant now that the rules are gone. >.> Or maybe not! Good luck.

Tarkuul only has the laws listed on the sign and the one that was posted here, but apparently up and disappered now.
And last time i read them trying to find a good loophole to use, I found them to be quite loophole proof, even against my devilish tiefling's machinations. Mainly because they have a fallback rule. If conflict between two rules, the first rule overrides everything else.
I must admit, the awesome laws is partly why I so adore Tarkuul.

If you cannot find them, I am sure there is fairly good reason why. o.o (Though, I dont know why myself.) They were removed for... some reason... Right? >.>

Some times Valkin posts them up in the Castle in game, but they're on the wiki page I'm fairly certain, though these might be wrong as the Laws written there claim to not allow hiding in the shadows, where Tormak has said above it's not actually banned.
