Barrels.

Barrels upon barrels, in fact, all being moved to the port of the undersea and arrayed at the docks. The process takes a while, with tides shifting and ebbing during the course of it. Svirfneblin with escorts of duergar and orog arms, gradually prepare the sizable export. The event itself appears to be entirely mundane in every way except for the volume, and L'Obsul as a whole pays little heed to what appears to be a bulk order being fulfilled.

The Duergar known as Drekbar watches from the mushroom grove. Any of the local fungi trampled, bruised and broken by the barrels and their large excessive guard is transplanted to the mushroom grove carefully with aid of Druidic magic.

Drekbar would have found that there was the occasion, silent company of a couple svirfneblin who appeared to be doing much the same, although the fungus outside of the designated areas for culturing and production didn't appear to be as important to L'Obsul itself. These deep gnomes, however, seemed to have much the same motivation as the duergar himself.


As the blooms continued to wax and ebb, there was something of a growing clamor of activity throughout the chasm, along its multiple levels. It started with a scream that was swallowed by the darkness as someone "fell" into the rift from the middle level of the gap, passing by the lower level and vanishing somewhere even deeper below. Mercantile routines began to change. Construction began anew in various parts of the chasm. Another person "tripped and fell" into the great, black gulf - a flailing shape light only briefly by the faerie fire as they dropped by the criss-crossing bridges.

To the long-time dwellers, this wouldn't be out of sorts - just another bloom cycle of its own, but then every cycle usually brought some manner of change with it.

A large Orog known to some as Balog or Hellscream, would start helping out his kin wordlessly in an attempt to blend in with L'Obsul's work force. If given an opportunity or a free moment, he would step in charge of managing the physical labor, through force if necessary. At the end of the days work he would inquire with the dockbosses about further assisting the city, for a price of course.

There was some bustle in the bazaar.

Mercantile containers were being shuffled, lined against the unhewn walls. It looked like there was a rearrangement in the work. Artisans were seen more frequently there, appraising the area and the stone they had to work with. Gradually, they moved in the tools of their trade, discussing design plans among each other while they surveyed. Ultimately, the activities appeared quite mundane in nature.

The kobold warren known as Yaravux has been abuzz with activity the last few blooms, the usually surly little reptilians seeming in a bit higher spirits than usual. The svirfneblin react by making sure all of their people are accounted for...

The svirfneblin may find there is one extra in there midst. A visitor from afar clan enters their settlement to speak with some of their traders seeking information of a certain nature.
