Does anyone actually monitor or control the Amia FB page? I asked to join 3 years ago... still waiting.

Do we need a new page? I mean, it couldn't hurt. I found people recommending Arelith on FB so... why not us, right?

Ugh... hate facebook.

Sure, it would not hurt to have a little advertisement, but I just thought I'll share my valuable opinion with you...

... I hate facebook.

Me too, mostly. However, for my business, I have used it to great result. I can make a post that reaches over 50,000 people in a few hours. Sure, costs a little, but... done certain ways, it doesn't have to and can still reach a lot of people.

I mean, hells, I'd offer to do it, manage a page for Amia, but... need DM approval I'd thnk. I might be able to drum up some new players, the right way.

I like the idea personally. If managed well, it might really get to some people. Better than not getting to any people, right?

I think the last time they did this, a bunch of old Legacy players were just mostly posting about how much DM's had upset them in various isolated incidents.

And a mod can remove comments like that.

... which will only result in "censorship" backtalks.

Maybe if you create a profile, disable adding comments (if that's even possible - as I said, never had, never will in case of Facebook. Or frankly, any other social media). Use it solely for advertisement and as a information platform.

Ehh, maybe, but.. here's the truth... let them? Where will they post that won't be removed? This isn't the Daily Planet, censorship is not removing trolls, or maybe it is. Whatever. We're allowed to sing the praises and delete the shit. That's how social media works, lol.

Taking the social out of social media... hrm... not sure it doesn't just remove it's effectiveness too.

*shrug* Just trying to help in a method that I'm familiar with.

If you're going to cull comments what makes the amia fb page different from here

The Amia FB thing is nothing official and is neither handled nor controlled by the staff. It's mostly just a few players who make a post once every blue moon and almost everyone there does not play Amia at all anymore for years already.

Making an official one and moderating it, might be a good idea.

There's no moral qualm about deleting posts you don't like from a managed facebook page. You don't have freedom of speech on someone else's facebook page. It's literally a platform they manage at that point and they can use whatever tools Facebook gives them, including moderation tools.

So don't say dumb stuff and get in trouble ;)

Precisely.

I'm open to making and moderating an "official" page if the team allows it.

I am one of the legacy players....since I joined way back and here I am. Shit like that will happen and I had my fights but these are new times! I think this can be a good idea.
