In the late night hours the quagmires shook in massive explosions. The Yuan-ti guard by the cave entry did not have the chance to sound alarm as he was blasted by a massive fireball.

No alarm was needed though, for all of the ruins shook with several more blasts fireing. The Lizardmen storemed the ruins, tossing granades and the Shamans casting spells under the lead of their new Chief.

The lesser Yuan-ti quickly formed a solid defense, keeping the Lizardmen at bay and slowing their progress, while the higher standing members of their society drew back to converse with their queen and listen to her lead and orders.

Babylon was well aware that she could easily destroy those infidels, however, the already shaken ruins had taken severe damage over the last years by adventurers invading. The current, reckless attack by the new chieftain, she was aware that the young new leader had wanted to expand their territory the moment he came to power and defeated the old, left even more damage to the place. Honestly, she had grown tired of this location. The climate was less than ideal and the neighbours as annoying as you can get them.

The decision was made rather quickly, the queen of the Yuan-Ti tribe used her formidable magic to transform her throne temporarily into a portal, big enough for all those who were with her to come though with her. She temporarily sealed her throne room... the low-bloods could be replaced easily in their new home.

As a last "gift" and reminder to her opponents, that this battle had ended quite differently, had she so desired, she collapsed the old library and part of the bridge, burrying dozens of lizardmen under debris or hauling them into the depths. In a few other spots, stones loosend from the ceiling and stuck the invaders beneath them.

After this last deed, Babylon too stepped into the portal and closed it behind her. Where did they go, one might wonder?

The new Chief of the Lizardmen did not mind the damage to the ruins. He had more than enough space now and his people would thrive. They now almost worshipped him as "the one who defeated the Yuan-ti". He knew he did not truly defeat them. He had counted on Babylon finally growing tired of having people invade her home if he just made enough of a ruckus and damage to the temple itself. Of course, he had also counted on the result, complete trust, admiration and obedience of his tribe.

The High Shaman was the only one who had known the actual plan and that it never was to battle Babylon directly. Hsi first deed was to undo Babylons seal to the throne room. A task that kept him busy for quite some time, though managed to succeed eventually.

Due to the recent activity of the Swamps Auri would keep his eyes keen on both the Warren and the Red Tribe, as well as the Green Tribe and any other unusual behaviors. The Champion of Bahamut seems slightly worried and concerned due to the activity. He warns the guards to keep a eye out and remain vigilant.
