It is a common fact that markets reacts instantly to bad news and the news of a closed mine on Frozenfar was only days old before prices on most raw ore began to rise all across Amia. Rumour has it that apparently some kind of monster has infested the Frostbites Mines and after more than a dozen killed effectively shut it down for now. The shutdown has naturally caused mild concern in the region as the export of raw materials remain the most important livelihood for most people in Endir’s Point.

(Minor module changes are incoming at some point, but basically the mines are closed off by the Endir's Point officials.)

A little bit outside endir's point, in the forest of the frozen hand, Lies the body of a warrior with burning eyes. A name is embroidered into his armor and he is adorned with a tempurian cloak. The name reads 'Hashim Hoios'. Over his body lies a cloak of Mask carefully laid above him as to conceal him, yet strangely there are no footsteps anywhere around. The snow must have fallen over them and concealed any trace of the assailant.

The warrior has a hole in his chest. It seems a claw of tremendous power simply tore through his armor and gutted him. But the blood is dry and there is no blood anywhere else on the ground. A finder may put the clues together than he was not killed on this particular spot.

Perhaps rumours of a terrible beast in the frostbite mines come to mind? Or perhaps somebody with a sick sense of humour laid the cloak above him after an animal killed him? Or perhaps a murderer of mask is the guilty here, stating some odd example with the hole in his chest?
You'd better attempt to raise him and ask him what it was all about...

Malatril, on his regular patrols, would stumble at the body. He would curse at first, until he notices a glimpse of the body below now slightly moved cloak.

"What the hells?" he would look around, touching a gem on his bracers, looking around. After ten seconds or so, he would remove the cloak and inspect the body.

"Hashim?" he would stare at the body for a while, deep in thought.

"Well, dead people can't talk..." he reaches for a scroll of raise dead and uses it over Hashim's body, calling to Tempus to raise the fallen warrior.

*A pissed off little Hin could be seen pacing back and forth outside the mine. His armor bared scratches from some beasts claws and his dirty little self seemed to be in quite a tiffy. The colors on his armor show he is one of the War Knights but the language in which he speaks as he rants is unknown to many. He paces back and forth and never seems to stop only to halt at the enterances and shake a fist at the clearing before yelling down the hole something along the lines of:

"You dastardly-ore-stealing-home-napping-no-blade-working-son's of a mothers ugly-hairy-mustache-bottom-feedin critters get out of me damn mine!"

*One could only think that this little hin had some sort of run in with the creature that set his calm little self off. Those that know him would be shocked at the vulgarity pouring from his normally calm self. It is clear that something stole this hin's home and he is not happy about standing for it.*

After organizing watches and patrols around the mines to keep an eye in case creatures get out, Malatril can be seen talking to certain pissed-off hin, taking some notes.
Same evening he can be seen in company of beautiful human female, moving through the Triumvir towards the Loremaster's Hall. There he can be seen talking with the lorekeeper apprentice, giving him a sketch of the creature and general description. They can be seen talking for couple of minutes, after which Malatril leaves him a bag of coin and he and woman leave the place.

The township of Endir’s Point seems to have fallen upon hard times. As all mining activity has stopped barely a single ship has left the town carrying goods. Without the mine to supply work most miners wander aimlessly around the streets causing trouble every now and again in dispute over bread or otherwise. To any travelers in the region it becomes clear that the mine is a major part of the town’s life force and that it is struggling to progress with the mine completely shut down.
In spite of all this nothing new is heard from the mines as few but stubborn miners are willing to stay anywhere near a place where so many have lost their lives.

Out of a dark crack in the corner she crept, not out of fear or to remain undetected, simply because she moves with the grace of smoke through still air. Walking silently along the wall, following the the line most out of the sun she heads toward the gate. On the other side she was taken Northward towards the mine, not quite knowing why, but she long ago learned to not question her feet.
It had been a while since she had eaten and a while longer since she realised so. For living as she does, her mind easily controlled over the matters of her body, it is easily forgotten so long as she has energy. So needless to say her body was glad of the scent she caught lingering on the glacial air. It was all she could do from stopping her mouth watering at the rich smell of the roasting Boar nearby, for suddenly she realised, she was famished.
She followed her nose to the top slopes of the mine, she scarcely noticed the bustle of folk and the restless Oxen buzzing about her like an angry hornets nest. At the top she saw the bounty; crackling and dripping and with all the trimmings, much to her elation was totally unattended. Save for everyone who was running about her.
So she sat and waited for a chance to present itself, which is right about the same time she started to notice the guards and the blood and the odd echo's from the mines. Her curiosity now more demanding than the meat, she sat and listened and moved about trying to grasp the situation. She heard words of monsters and strange creatures, of lost or dead folk. So naturally she walked towards the entrance, stuck to the shadows and slipped right by. She overstepped an arm or a leg, and parts of the shaft floor were slick with oil, or blood. Either way her curiosity grew for it, and she snuck in ever more carefully.
She had barely got a few metres inside when a noise rattled the walls, not like anything she had heard in her life. Undeterred she made it to the first corridors. Here she froze, she was motionless and hugged the dark walls as best she could. Some-thing reared up from the rocks and shadows of the sconce's that had burnt out. In its maw was some poor sod's mangled body. Still her fear did not surface though deep within herself she knew she should just leave. To her shock the creature turned to her although she were stood before it with a torch in hand, instantly she backed away and towards the entrance.
After a moment to prepare herself she slipped back in and with all her speed flew past the creature that seemed content to feast on the bodies it had already.
She walked a ways into the mine before she came across two 'knights of light', a male typical clad adventurer type, and a female, from her attire she summarised the female was a Triadic Knight. They were stood at the end of a corridor muttering over some items, a belt, a ring and an amulet. So she stood and listened. And when she knew they had no idea what was going on she showed herself. . .

They accepted her being there and greeted her kindly, they decided to first attack the creature, then to flee to the lower mines, there male Fire Genasi displayed the items once more for the three to see. Instantly her eye was drawn to the ring, and with some certainty she told the, that it was just like if not ~the~ one the old Dukes of Cordor used to wear. So she tried to help them to solve the puzzle.
Two chest, with inscriptions like the items, but different. The inscription upon the chests read 'The Path of the Blazing Sun' or 'The Cool Night'.
She knew which she would choose, but the headstrong fire gensai chose for them all. Although she could of stopped him if she wanted, she considered but decided that this must be fated to happen this way, so she let him choose the 'Path of the Blazing Sun'.
This angered whatever the creature was and all hell broke loose. Apparitions never before seen by her before came flying about the mine. Without thinking she took out a Shapechange scroll and filled the shaft with the tough hulking body of a Red Wyrm, squashed and forced to lie almost flat. Snapping wildly and finally engulfing the the tunnel in a blaze of fire they were gone.
Up top the sounds of a fight had begun and she quickly changed back and hurried up.
There more kinghts had arrived and were testing the creatures defences, to little effect. It chased a Hin and suddenly turned to her and knocked her out cold.

When she was brought too they had massed near the elevator on the top level. The fire gensai was no were to be seen. She listened to them make plans and talk and when the Gensai came crawling from the rubble around the elevator everyone stopped for his horrified squealing.
His words were cut short as she interjected telling the knights how he blundered and caused the situation to become worse, so he pushed her down the shaft to the next level in his frustration.
Fortunately she landed soundly on her feet as her quick reflex's granted her little cause for concern. Shorty after the rest of the rabble came to 'save' her and one even dared to touch her, trying to hoist her over his shoulder. She easily broke free and shot off into the darkness. She head the order to catch her but was quickly taken back by the commander. It pleased her to hear his words "Actually, don't bother. I don't think anything can catch her!"
So she hid once again in the lightless parts of the shaft as the creature returned and spoke. It told them to be gone, that the mine was his home, for a time. And to leave the fire gensai behind.
So they did, they left and the fire gensai sat and trembled. And as before the creature turned to her but this time spoke to her. It said she was interesting and offered her a deal of sorts, should she swear and oath. It offered the gensai the same, but he only spoke none-sense and sobbed about his life and things that only disgusted her to hear from a man, she had no sympathy for him. He had the audacity to blame her, but she barely even listened.
She swore the oath, and the gensai did not. The creature said he could leave, and as he did so turned on him and set a minion upon the gensai. She didn't watch, but she could hear every sound and the way it destroyed him in a matter of seconds.
They spoke some more and she was told to wait, she would be called. As she left, she took off her cloak and draped it over the body of the genasi, with a hole tore in his chest. Upon the cloak was the symbol of mask. She didn't think she would be needing it. . .

During some time in Endir's with a woman in a hat and a man who may or may not be talking to a bear, Samantha asks some of the miners wandering the town about any information they have about the bodies, the monster or the mines that might be useful. She wonders who she should inquire with about the protection of Endir's and the mines.

*From time to time whether it be covered in snow or out by a tent a little hin waits. He sits watching the mines that he would call home with angry eyes through his gnome made goggles. He had faced the creature once before in the caves and he knew he would face it again. Though fear did not take this hin's mind at all. He sat there speaking with others time to time and patrolling waiting for the time when he would face it again. Every now and then he can be seen walking up and down the path and starring into the cavern with distaste. Thinking that some creature had bested him and it still sits there building a family in his den. All the precious ore's where he cannot see them anymore, the times he spend pondering brilliant tactical plans for the War Knights. Everything put on hold because something decided to take the mine from him and all those it serves. He thinks of the community and about what Malatril, Torin, Lord Cory, Idan and the rest of those involved shall come up with to deal with the foul creature.*

*But for now he waits, sitting and watching. Waiting for that time.*

After a series of meetings with different interested parties, and a certain event including some Rakshasa, Malatril occupied merchant room in Ralten's and spent hours writing copies of reports and sending them to various parts of the isles. In one moment, he could be seen leaving the Inn, portaling somewhere only to return back couple of minutes later. After he finishes all this correspondence, he checks the guards, and goes to the Endir's smithy. There he spends rest of the evening crafting heavily polished silver plates and fashions them into big tower shields, with highly reflective front surface.

While the mines remain closed much to the dismay of all of Endir many of the problems of starvation seems to have been avoided through the surge of financial means in the hands of the town leadership. All in all Endir's Point is managing through in particular due to the efforts of the War Knight patrols though tension is brewing beneath the otherwise quiet mining town withouth a functioning mine.

War Knights keep their patrols. There is constant watch over the mines, with one of the knights almost constantly using polymorph scrolls to turn into umberhulk, watching both for beast and possible infiltrators. Malatril is constantly on the move, with couple of knights he moves around the mines, looking for newly dug holes or similar entrances around the mines, even making a quick trip to underdark entrance to check the situation there.
He does a lot of correspondence too, and it can be heard between knights, that if research into that creature's nature doesn't turn up something soon, they'll be going in in force.

The creek of the gate blowing open slightly in the hawkish wind. The shadows cast off from the luminescent moon that watch the night.

A woman in robes may not of been seen climbing the slopes of the mine last night. She came and went several times with an unrivalled speed that none got a good chance to see her. When the morning came she was as fleeting as the morning fog.

Clad in robes of red and back, the lady presents herself to two War Knights on the slopes of the mine.
She tests their curiosity and intentions after hearing that she was '...still on the loose.' and decides to talk to them. She did not give her name and was presumed to be who they sought.
She told them nothing they did not know, but learnt something new from them. She treated with who appeared to be the leader, one possibly a half-blood named, Malatril.

He seemed to of learnt much and she set the wheels in motion for him to seek answers on her behalf.
As vague as ever, he left feeling he had gained nothing. She left with a shrewd grin, back to the shadows, and the city within.

Malatril could be seen setting up private meetings with couple of people. He still keeps sending correspondence, and now his patrols extend into Shadow plane, but keep mostly to shadow of Endir's Point and halfway to Shadowscape city.
He also leaves a message for Elder Teron and mine owner Ulfried.

"Honored Elder/Ulfried,

We are still working on uncovering way how to remove those creatures that infest your mine. As soon as we recover any useful information regarding that, we will move inside with force. I have contacted many capable people and we are trying to solve this as soon as possible.
However, until this happens, I do ask of you to order the miners away from the mine entrances. I would also put up steel gratings to prevent unauthorized entry into the mines, since some people seem to do so despite the warning and risk both themselves and possible unwanted reactions from the creatures.
I beg you for patience. I understand people are restless and hard-pressed to accept foreign help, but we are doing everything we can at this moment without unnecessary endangering lives of townsfolk.

Strength and Honor,

Warlord Malatril Bannilylth
*official stamp of War Knights*"

Hashim Hoios, The Fire Genasi, have returned to the entrance of the mine and seems to be 'Teasing' whatever is inside. He sporadically throws activated light gems inside and burning sticks. You wonder if it is for a greater purpose, but much leans towards that he is doing it just for the hell of it.

The genasi warrior would reply with a cocky voice that he had nothing to share but was perfectly fine with hanging around the mine for a day or two, waiting for said warlord. Not much later he packed up a tent and a stool, and proceeded to lit a fireplace.

A black skinned woman, brightly decorated with heavy white fractal-like tattoos and bleach whitened hair kneels in meditation in a temple West of the Mine. A slow approaching figure wearing garments consisting of animal skins and pelts not local to the northern wastes enters the temple from the raging blizzard outside. He steps up to the kneeling woman, keeping his distance, he speaks softly and with hesitance. “Mistress… their number is growing…”*he pauses for reaction and continues* “…interest is gathering, and I fear that it has spread as far as…” *he pauses again, noticing the priestess lifting her head ever so slightly at his words, almost taking interest out of anticipation at his next words, he clears his throat slightly* “…Mistress… forgive me, but it appears one of Flame has been sighted at the entrance… “, *he steps back out of caution*. The kneeling woman opens her black eyes, staring at the frozen floor; she slowly lifts her gaze up above and towards her front, bringing her eyes to rest upon her Mother, her Savior, and her Queen.

The statue of Auril gazes back over her.

Early next morning, a War Knight patrol led by Malatril, would enter mines before miners to make another check of the mines. After that, Malatril would split form the patrol and return to the town and look for father Teron to discuss something. Rest of the patrol would go towards Chillwyck, probably to check on the orc threat.
