Among the ruins, the adventurers find the remains of a small campsite and some surveying equipment, many months old and all but destroyed by the weather. Among the forgotten possessions is a rusted and chipped emblem of Sehanine Moonbow.
Uppon finding the items Matthew would set aside a specific well made chest for such items and store them. He would be careful not to damage them any further. He takes the emblem of Sehanine Moonbow and places it with in a pocket on the under part of the chest lid to ensure it does not get lost.

Progress is made as various visitor show up from time to time to stop by and either help out, gab a bowl of stew or arm-wrestle at the camp. Friends gather and talk and with the help of some of the usual of the Dale new folks are shown the way to the encampment.
Matthew would arrange for several plots of land to be reserved for the dead just a little ways down the road fro the Salandran temple. With reservations made, Matthew has started to dig a few of the graves this day before returning to the work camp. Here he enlists the help of others from time to time to aid him in retrieving the bodies that were left in the cave. With with six bodies recovered and wrapped in the canvas tarps and tied to go it's a small bit of progress but still progress.

After some lovely donations are brought to Matthew after a hard day of work, Matthew makes for Cordor to find a good place to keep such safe until the building processes will begin. It's at this time Matthew decides to create records for those he sees often and those who have offered aid, help and patronage, perhaps keeping the ledger of sorts in mind for something in the future.

Something that sounds like many voices laughing in unison, echoes throughout the hillside near the camp.
"A couple more days, Lathanderite. Don't forget what I told you... I wasn't bluffing."
The feeling of negative energy might feel stronger. A powerful necromancer seems to be haunting this area. Occasionally the presence of undead may be felt, as well, and chanting may be heard, along with the cries and laughs of him and his minions.
Having been bored and curious, Meriptah ventures to Ruin Hill alone one day to see if anyone is present. Finding nothing, he turns to leave before hearing some distant chants and laughter upon the wind. He shudders to himself and leaves.
Work has continued at the Camp Site none the less. The Caverns are cleaned by Tuomas and Matthew before Matthew meets up with a lovely Stone Mason to discuss the work to come.
The stone pile is soon made from the broken and loose stone, the grass lands are cleared and work stations have been built. It's easy to see this project is certainly coming along. Even the wolves were relocated!

The laughter and chanting, and the presence of strong negative energy, have left the area. The Necromancer that once haunted this area has moved on, a bit of a singe on the area from a hellball being dropped in it - but the majority of the area left untouched. The shrine to Lathander, in particular, remains unblemished.
The Shaman Miakoda aided me in the relocation of wolves. She has a way with the wolves and was able to all them to her as if the were her own pack. We had arranged an appropriate area to introduce them in to with in the Amian Forrest where the population of badgers had started to grow a deal too large. It was a successful journey. There are still a few stray wolves that linger by the work site. Sebastien helps me from time to time with them.

Ringing out in almost melodic rhythm, sound of steel versus stone echoes in the small valley out of the cavern. In its shallow depths, an drow yuth strikes another wedge into the following layer of stone to be quarried out while its elemental helper wets the stone. Perfect cracks square the stone wall's face, ready to be separated via steam and temperature. So the large stone block can be salvaged for later, pushed unto the wooden rollers on ground and wheeled out where it will be meticulously chiseled into building blocks of the structure that will rest upon the hill over the cavern.
Many a day will pass in this exercise and many more in creating and placing of the stone blocks to start up the structure. But these pale in comparison to time and effort, both mundane and magical is put into ordering now more spacious cavern into planned rooms and shape. Polishing the walls and floors to give it that final proper feel of worked stone. Endless prayers and litanies to Grumbar poured over the working hours, pushing the young mason and his helpers trough the grinding work.
Special care is taken to avoid underground streams common in area from surfacing in unwanted areas. Their flows all rerouted to a holding tank in back of the system where cool, fresh water can be stored for long time. Should its owners need it. Cavern rooms themselves are fitted with basic stone doors.
The building parts above are worked on last. Working out the shape of the house and its supporting structures, the large stones hefted into place by boom crane and magic alike, their touching points reinforced by trying to match stone to stone perfectly.
Every seventh stone has an short quote out of "Litany of Stone" chiseled into it faintly using drow runescript and terran language. So that by end of the building itself the whole litany can be read if one knows where to look.

Matthew tacks up a notice out front requesting aid in building a Coral for Cows, and an irrigation System for the plats.
Most of the encampment starts to be packed away and the small fire pit they once started out at has now grown. Matthew spends a few hours each day contributing to the work around the camp site. He takes long walks in the woods some days bringing back with him talent logs still good or use and prepares them for use around the large fire pit that has now developed.

In the late evening the tall luminescent winged being would search the encampment ensuring the predators of the night were staved off from any visitors. The typical offerings of fresh baked corn bread and stew was tended to before being drawn from the camp fire's side beside the glistening lake. As the darkness settled uppon the land he would stoke the flames of the Camp fire. By now what was once a small camp fire had steadily grown to something of a bond fire. He tossed in the spare bits of wood he had gathered from his earlier walk in the Forrest and allowed the warm glowing heat to rise up keeping the area welcoming as the cold settled in with the darkness of night.
He settled down on one of the larger stones that had been excavated from the clearing of the cave system and sighed softly to himself before glancing to his youthful charge.
"How's the letter coming along? Is the draft almost finished? If you need help with the writing of Common Id be happy to lend my advice." Matthew would offer to the golden Kobold seemingly keeping up on the minor tasks he had been assigned

In the recent Days Matthew has taken several trips to Guldorand for some fresh Cedar wood too burn with in the encampments main fire place. He takes care to sweep up the ash and sprinkle it about the perimeters of the encampment each morning after the sun rises. The scent hopefully driving away a majority of the stray wolves that were left with in the area. For a particular few that stubbornly remain Matthew gets to work on building a fresh trap. This one is far different than the snares he typically uses when hunting fresh game for leather supplies and provisions.
All of the wood is treated several times over with stain to make it harden and resistant to the elements. Each seems geometric in shape but offer a longer section from the front.
He starts by building a cubic frame from wooden bars. He binds and tethers each wooden bar together with in the frame using sturdy rawhide leather and thick rope. He creates bars all around the entirety of the cage until one section where he fashions a closing door from wood. He's certain to fashion a cross pattern for the flooring and wooden bars jutting out from the tops. He tethers on a rope to each cage door and situates them In the far edges of the camp near some bushes.
During the night he runs the rope from the cage doors to the backs of the cages and scatters fresh rabbit meat about the backs of the cages in small cut up chunks as bait. And thus the traps ere set he would stay hidden from a good distance so that he may pull the ropes, in turn pulling the cages shut when the wolves would come to get their free meal.

A squire from Kohlingen came to visit. He asked some questions and seemed to be looking for information. I tried my best to explain what this place is all about. Even Halyee came to ask about it and wanted to offer some help. I assigned her the task of helping with the small school room. She's close to Beatrix's age. After building a few leather goods I took her home as the night was falling and didn't want her to be so close to the wolves. It seems like we are getting some place. Itmen, one of my apprentices has returned from his small journey. He's shown interest in advancing his studies with a renewed passion. I'm curious to see how he grows. I have a small task in mind for him should he surpass my tutelage.

Upon my adventures throughout the island of Amia I have stumbled upon a fortress that holds a great evil within it. Literally everything that I have nothing but contempt for exists in this foul fortress: The Undead and Demons. There are many problems with the existence of this terrible place. The obvious, being that the dead are not allowed to rest and that the ground is ultimately unholy, but also that this fortress is so close to the Sanctuary that it poses a threat for those who train under Sir Matthew Allen of Lathander. After giving Master Matthew my initial report he had given me an order and an approval of my crusade against the the evil fortress and it's Army of Darkness.
The order was given by my master it was time to investigate. Finding the book for the place turned out to be absolutely no trouble at all. The real question is putting the dead to rest once and for all. The first place to start is the history of the fortress. I completed this first task that was taken and I have copied all of the text the book had to offer.
The story I read about tells not enough about the history of this place. I need to investigate further. My analysis:
A young girl possessed murders people from birth. The darkness that is within her takes physical form and ultimately her body becomes that of a demons, and finally she bathes the entire fortress in blood. Not a terrible amount of information but it creates some very important questions:
Questions
Quote:
* Why is it that Andrielle has never left Darkhold?
* Is she hiding something within Darkhold? What is the purpose of raising the undead armies to continue holding the keep?
* The Dungeon has a portal within it that leads to the plane of negative energy, yet this clearly cannot be the devil's home plane because multiple times has she been slain and by multiple adventurers. Where is her true plane?
* What does/What is she capable of accomplishing in her current state?
* Who is physically raising the dead in the hold? Is it Andrielle, or perhaps a proxy?
* Who wrote that tome within Darkhold and for what purpose?
* What are the green lights within the dungeon of darkhold?
* Who originally made the portal within the dungeon of darkhold?
Those are the important questions which will need to be answered in order to take the next necessary steps towards destroying this abomination. What I am considering now is research options... I need to find a year for these events, and more background information. Here is a list of things I know...
Information Known/Inferred
Quote:
* Possible Noble Birth - It is likely that Andriaelle was of noble birth. The reason I believe this is because of some of the descriptive words within the tome. It mentions Andriaelle escaping her "warm bed" at night. Additionally, the fact that she was a child at a fortress suggests she was probably the daughter of the keeps owner which would make her noble blooded. After all what other use would a fortress have for a child? I also notice, that within the text it mentions "knights" and "Common Folk" as though to separate her from both of these. This implies that she is neither. To Investigate this, I should try to acquire answers from Cordor's government and perhaps the guard themselves. I'm sure they would keep records on local nobility.
* Home plane is likely in Baator - The reason I draw to this conclusion is because various times throughout the text I notice key words such as "devilishness", and "infernal". Additionally, I notice that she does not die despite killing her within the demi-plane the portal in the dungeon brings me to. One of sir Matthew's friend did indeed confirm this for me, that he has killed her many times as well and to no avail suggesting that the devil's home plane is infact not the pocket dimension.
I will end this report now and continue the next one after recieving new information, new instructions, and or new orders.
Over the next few days Matthew makes use of his trapping skill quite often as he delve sin to the small woodland areas. He's sure to keep to heavily populate areas to hunt for this game with snares and the like. Hides are gathered to be cured for leather working.
He first begins the processes by draping the hides over a saw horse and slicing them in half. Once done the hides are moved in to large wooden tubs of water salt and lime. They are they set to churn with a small wheel like mechanism Matthew had built from wood. The chemical reaction would allow the hair or fur to be stripped from the hides. Once the hair was removed Matthew moves them to a separate tub, acid bathing them to prepare them for the tanning processes. Next they are loaded in to a large drum with wooden prongs on the inside and spun with Chrome salts... the hides turn a robins egg blue in tone at this stage.
Once that's completed he sets to work on ensuring the leather is and equally uniform thickness throughout. Once this is complete he places them back in to the wooden drum only this time with some vegetable extract, tree bark and water; Dye and a chemical are added to help make the leather color and water resistant. As this new solution binds to the leather, the leather tuns to a brownish tone. This second tanning is gentler than the first and softens up the leather.
Next a mixture of starch and water gets brushed on to the tanned hides. They are them placed on to a bit of glass that is stationed over a fire . Once they are dry he stains the leather. Finally he takes a heated iron to the leather and smooths it out. He seems to have the materials to move on to the actual work now.
The next project begins with wood. He creates the saddle tree fro bits of wood he carves and shapes before laminating. Once that is complete he covers them in dense sections of rawhide. Next he sets out some leather and starts drawing out, sized sections and cutting them out. The saddles skirt are among the first bits to be cut forth. He cuts next the Saddle seat by hand using a curved cutting tool called a head knife.
The seat is paid special attention as it's being custom maid for a particular fit. All the edges of each cut out are shaved neatly for tucking purposes. The technique he uses to do such is called skiving. Strong binding glue gets brushed on to the section of leather that ill go around the 'horn' of the saddle and gets worked in to position. Cover caps and groves are added before he punched holes through the leather's edges making it so that later on sewing will be easier.
Next he moves on to building up sections of the saddle tree with strategically placed sections of leather. Little by little he skives away some leather to improve the shape, form, and contour. A leather backed piece of tin is placed next and nailed down taught, adding strength to the seat. More sections of leather are added to continue shaping the seat, skiving the edges to blend it in to a smooth transition on the seat. One last leather build up is placed down before some intensive skiving and sanding is done. Next Matthew sets to work on gluing down and nailing leather to the base of the horn on the swells of the saddle. sections are left with perforated holes for easier sewing later on. Leather is next applied to the back of the seat called the cantle, this area too, is left with perforated holes along the edges. Surplus leather is carved away before another carving tool shaves the edges beveling them a little, making these parts smooth along the saddle skirt not to cause chaffing to either the rider or the one wearing the saddle.
The saddle seat is them immersed in warm water to make it pliable. He drapes the seat around the built up saddle tree and straps t down so as it dries it hardens in to the shape of the tree. He does the back side separately and pins it down. Once that is done he sets to work on gluing them down. The seat is shaped right up to the cantle and the back roll is mapped out and scored after being crimped for exact dimensions with a compass. With a wooden down he again pressed the saddle seat to the saddles contours for the seat...
He next moves to using a wide range of tools with expertise carving in designs and recces... spray soft water are added to soften the leather here or there as he works in an intricate design. Metal plates are then in stalled as part of the saddle's rigging, which will be used to secure the saddle down. This is a crucial step and they must be firmly entrenched with in the leather. Rivets are used and then rounded off. More glue and rivets are added. Sheep skin is added for comfort under the saddle. The sheep skin is trimmed and sheered tapered around the edges. Next leather lace s weaved tying both parts of the saddle together. Next he applies a generous amount of glue to the stirrup and works on bolting a metal spacer... He sets to work on the cinch stings nailing them to the saddle. Oiling is added finally... From start to finish on the saddle alone minus the work for preparing leather has taken fifty five hours.

In the late evening Matthew and Beatrix tend to the wolves in the cages for now they seem to remain in the long run cages. BY now the cages have been sectioned off by smaller fences to keep chickens and rabbits from coming too close.
Much like learning a foreign Language the pair settles down to study each of the wolves.
Like dogs, they bark, whine and growl, but mostly they "speak" via a body language designed to be understood wolf to wolf. Though decoding requires some practice, Matthew seems to have had more experience in such activities and helps Beatrix learn along each of the wolves unique tells and personalities often drawing sketches of them in sketch pads to help visually show her the small ticks and tells of each little movement more visually in comparison to their lovely art models. They spend Sevres hours each evening stretching into the canine culture. Slowly as they work they are able to gain the chance to interact more fully with the wolves. This inter-species understanding along with the fostering of new bonds by their ability to communicate helps deepen these bonds.
Over the centuries, dogs have become very adept at interpreting human body language and even at learning spoken words and hand signals. Now it's our turn.
The tail, ears, eyes and mouth speak volumes without making a sound. Everybody recognizes a rapidly wagging tail as a sign of canine excitement. However it is important to note the tail also is a primary conveyor of social standing and mental state.
It can be easy to mistakenly interpret a tail wagging to mean friendliness. Generally, a tail held above and away from the body or curled over the back denotes dominance and, especially if accompanied by bristling of the hair, threatens aggression.
A relaxed wolf, comfortable in its surroundings, generally holds its tail lower and away from its body. On the other hand, a frightened or submissive wolf holds its tail close to its body, tucked between its legs. If the hackles are raised; the lips are pulled back in a snarl showing the large canine teeth; and the stare is intent on the subject of aggression. You can almost hear the growl. Few canines, or humans either, would misread the signals: "I am ready to bite!"
Members of a wolf pack sound the alarm together but subordinate wolves, like domestic dogs, typically step back to let the pack leaders handle the active defense; Hence the barking.
Sensitivity to the pack mentality and hierarchy that help keep the peace in wolf packs is paid careful attetions to as Matthew works to establish a pack among the wolves with a new social standing. As with wolf pups, the communicative behaviors signifying dominance and submission are often incorporated into a dog's play behavior. Whether a dog on its back is just having fun or is trying to appease dominant dogs would depend on whether this scenario was preceded by play bows or by aggressive threats by standing dogs.
With wolves, as with domestic dogs, body language can easily be misinterpreted.
In a display of dominance, a dog will stand over another dog, with raised ears and tail, staring intently. Another dog, lowered into submissive position, averts its eyes and holds its ears and tail down.
With careful understanding and deviation Matthew and Beatrix work on establishing them selves among the wolves as the new pack leaders and dominate roles often sticking to specific hand signals sounds and other reactions. The promise of food for desired effects are used to help instill this among the wolves.

A certain bard appears by the construction site. He is not participating much in the construction efforts but rather begins to paint something on a designated area on the floor. He returns every day and seemingly studies map-like sheets before continuing the painting. As the days are passing the painting slowly emerges as a greater map about Amia's place on Toril, involving cities, terrains, kingdoms of the region and Faerun. He makes some effort to show what lies on the Western, yet more or less undiscovered half of the world as well.

The place known to some as Sanctuary was a bustle of activity in the last day. Howls of a hound were sent across the terrain, one that was a far cry from the local wolves, holding a gutteral reverb to it that was otherworldly. One of the upstairs rooms that was reserved for Fymor is now home to a strange silken bandage cocoon the size of a man, and those who reviewed Amian gossip would know it was none other than the rooms owner. Atop the mass of bandages lay a badger doll, a surley expression to disuade any to touch it. Potted plants fueled by sunlight keep the room with a pleasant aspect.
The kennel pantry has recently been broken into, rabbit jerky strewn about with burn marks on the floor.
A certain dog is moved back to the room designated as Fymor's before Matthew sets to work trying to seek out a good location to release the wolves with in the woods. He tried to find areas that are over populated by prey to perhaps release some of the wolves in safely as they seem to be a bit too wild to tame and the stress does not do much good for them.

In the quiet hours the winged man spends time in a room ensuring potted plants are kept well and ensures lots of sun light is drawn in. He wittles away at the block of wood with various small cutting knives and tool slowly but surely carving a wooden lion figurine along to a softly hummed song.
In the late hours of the day and in the early hours of the morning h spends his time on another small project...
Most mornings just before and after breakfast Matthew can be seen working on small starter trays with seedlings of new crops for the fields. He makes an effort to speak with Hazamir about crop rotations and proper pruning of plants. He is dressed in simple work clothes, un hindered by heavy plate he offers his strength towards the aid of plowing the small plots to get ready to move plants on out. He takes the place of of where one would typically see a horse or Ox at the front of a plow too help in this task, seemingly serving as the 'beast of burden' in this matter. Yard work doesn't end here as he helps out with some of the bees wax and recycling of the wood the grey Scaled Itmen had brought. The wood is put to use as a portion of donated crates are slowly dismantled and worked on in to fences and small sections for the fields. Such work continues as Matthew dedicates his hands to working about three to four hours in the fields each day and near full days nearing the end of the Tenday he seems to always have one set aside to help in full.
As his hands develop callouses he tends to wrap them with taught linen bindings, to protect them and to continue his wok.
In the evening he tends to seek out on of his new squires and endeavors to run physical fitness drills fro about two to two and a half hours each day going over the basics of of blunt weapons first sch as Maces and war hammers. He is merciless in his picking of the stances and just how each swing is given offering advice on how to perfect form. Training isn't so much rigorous yet as it is tiring.

After visiting Ruin Hill and speaking with Matthew about his endeavors, Kronaux offered his expertise in metal working for whatever Matthew might have need. Matthew told him metal gates and doors would be nice, so Kronaux has set to work making sturdy iron gates and doors to Matthew's specifications.
Hazamir, not quite willing to take off his fine clothes right now, listens to Matthew's questions, but eventually asks for a bit more time for deliberation. Basic crops are mentioned, but nothing too specific.
Hazamir later pesters a few farmers north of Cordor for what they would sow and why. He's trying to understand the options, as well as the disadvantage of the cooler Amian climate. He also digs through the library in Cordor for some guidelines for farming.
