Is it common knowledge that palemastery doesn't extend one's lifespan? Can someone that's done research into palemastery still believe that they've found a pathway to immortality, or at least a method of extending their life (taking cognitive dissonance into account)?

If I read this right, if one /does/ do research about Palemasters they'd know a Palemaster isn't undead. It's as close to undead as possible. However you can reach immortality via request. But a basic Palemaster without DM request are not immortal.

I was under the impression that palemastery doesn't offer immortality, period. :o
I was just asking if a palemaster would have to be aware of this fact(?) or not.

Like I said, I hope I'm not confusing either! A Palemaster /isn't/ undead, but it's possible to reach it through a LOT of work.

Palemastery doesn't offer immortality - period. This is a fact indeed.
Now a Palemaster COULD be delusional and believe that he is not aging. Of course, sooner or later he will be proven wrong.

Lore:?: Does being a pale master actually improve how long you live, or do you have to become a full lich/what-have-you?
No, Palemastery does not extend one’s lifespan. This is possible through other necromancy-related methods. To achieve biological immortality through undeath is possible only through becoming a full undead.
