  • Raised the buy cap on the two smiths in Kohlingen to 25k based on PC actions to improve Kohlingen over the months. Drerem's remains the same for now.
  • Fixed positioning of the Teacher Instructor in the Triad Temple.
  • Door to the boss in the Amia Frontier Orc Caves is no longer locked.
  • Moved the Kohl Keep guards a bit to prevent bumping.
  • Fixed the donation plate for Ilmater in the Triad Temple.

Reverted to 4.16b 4.16a for now. Won't be permanently, just for the purposes of checking stability.

Also, I realized I forgot to toggle settings for Devastating Critical when I restarted the servers. Don't want to mess around everyone with yet another restart, so that'll likely work like the default version up until the next reset.

  • Changed the Knight Commander Medicant Aura visual to be less obnoxious.
  • Added missing fire immunity to the Elemental Shape elder fire elemental.
  • Disabled shuriken from receiving monk unarmed attack bonus - it was causing trouble with our server stability, sadly. The quarterstaff change is here to stay, however.
  • Fixed the Blackguard Epic Fiend not receiving the proper amount of AC.

  • Fixed various spells which were not receiving proper Shifter scaling:

    • Cure Moderate Wounds
    • Cure Critical Wounds
    • Grease
    • Stonehold
    • Vampiric Touch

  • Fixed the Mindflayer Concussion Blast so it doesn't affect friendlies.
  • The Yugoloth Sword Battleloth now correctly has Bastard Sword feats, not Longsword.
  • Fixed the skinchanger widget so the optional visuals work properly.
  • Implemented the Visualizer - details here.
  • Knight Commander auras now only affect friendly/hostile targets; neutral targets are not affected at all.
  • Fixed some boss spawning exploits.

  • The kobold temple boss now has a 100% spawn rate.

  • Pain Touch is now properly usable at level 3, not 4.
  • The Blackguard ability, Aura of Despair, now has no visuals, cannot be dispelled and lasts permanently until the Blackguard rests.
  • Earth Genasi now correctly has a 5% discount with dwarven merchants.
  • Fixed Dragon domain's prayer ability.
  • Made Beef Jerky 1 use only instead of 1 use per day (if only it was).

Server A:

  • Removed that mining platform out on the Cordor West Coast.
  • Fixed Okappa food/drink bugs related to item stacking.
  • Pseudomodo finally has a manly voice.
  • Likewise, the Cordorian Scouts out in the Delta now have correct voicesets.
  • Removed the extra map pin in Cordor South.
  • Changed the description of the wooden halfling skeleton in Bendir's classroom so a dead dwarf is no longer swaying in the breeze.
  • Removed the mysterious lamp posts in Arwen's.
  • Fixed the Malarite Werecats so they no longer provoke attacks of opportunity.
  • Fixed the buggy rental house in Cordor West next to the gardens.

  • Change to the energon merchant so that it only prevents you from accessing the store if you fail the Spellcraft roll.

Server B:

  • Fixed Elrawen and Xil'aste in Nec'perya so they properly give discounts to drow.

General:

  • Made numerous bug fixes to spells/abilities:

    • Aid: Removed the ability to stack the temporary HP bonus on top of itself infinitely.
    • Aura of Blindness: Corrected the duration to be consistent with all other status auras.
    • Bless: Fixed so the radius applies at the targeted point, rather than at the caster no matter where you targeted.
    • Circle of Doom: Fixed the Empowered version so it no longer counts the caster level twice.
    • Confusion (spell): Made the Extended version actually extend the duration.
    • Creeping Doom: Removed the incorrect spell resistance check when entering the radius.
    • Divine Power: Upon casting Divine Power, all temporary hit points were being removed, not just temporary HP from Divine Power. This is fixed.
    • Hurl Rock: Upon impact, the radius was incorrectly small instead of huge. It is now huge in all situations.
    • Mass Charm: Lasts the proper 1 round/caster level, not 1 round/2 caster levels.
    • Negative Energy Burst: Undead were rolling a Will save to resist being healed. This is fixed.
    • Searing Light: Now does d8 per level against undead as intended, not d6.
    • Tasha's Hideous Laughter: Fixed the spell so mind immunity does not make the target always fail the roll.
    • Web: Fixed the occasional problem of being stuck with 3 Dexterity permanently.

    Server A:

    • Removed the extra pair of Spellcraft gloves from Bendir Dale's mage shop.

This shouldn't matter much to players, but bear in mind this requires quite a bit of resource extraction by me, so if there's anything suddenly broken which used to work, feel free to report it.

  • Overhauled Summon I-IX. See here for the full details. Those with a summon reskin of these spells might need it to be remade by us, which we will do, free of charge. Bear in mind these are brand new, and stats are likely going to get shifted around for a while yet until a proper balance is achieved.

    Thanks to Grymia, Terra, Rigela, Dark Immolation, maglorine, Naivatkal, Phearnun, Charles1810, Nivo, mrhackums, slkNihilus and Ravenovf for their testing, ideas and help towards making this come to fruition.

Server B: (Msheeler's stuff)

  • Plot updates to Ceyren's Mill and Caraigh.
  • Plot updates to Nec'perya.
  • Fixed missing quest item in Khem: Anari Oasis.

  • Did a balance/lore pass on the Summon Creature spells. Note that Ranger levels are now only taken into account for summon choices when they first gain access to spells at level 4 Ranger.
  • Implemented a new method of handling summon creature visuals, to allow reskinned creatures to ignore the default creature visuals (for instance, a reskinned Winterwight will not have the iceskin visual).
  • Changed the Summon Creature spell-line to be dynamic. Report any oddities related to them, please.

*Added compatibility with nwncx connect. Those with nwncx_connect installed will now preload the haks upon accessing the servervault.

*Added support for dynamic area instancing.

*Added f_update (DM only) command which will rebuild the current area with a fresh one from the mod file. Players in the area will be moved to player start during area rebuild.

Some of the above stuff has not been stress tested so it it causes odd behavior or crashes this update will be reverted.

Misc Changes:
  • Added new function to database spawn trigger, allowing for %chance Mini-Boss spawns in place of regular spawns.
  • Added ds_qst_classrwrd to available quest scripts, which sets up class-based item rewards very easily.
  • Aura of Menace has been fixed so that you can only be affected by it from one creature at a time (there's only so much menace to go around).
  • Added functionality to ds_area_enter and ds_area_exit to apply/remove VFXs after certain time periods in areas based on environment (yes, you're getting flies on you if you go wading in those sewers...)
  • Added functionality to inc_ds_ondeath for a secondary loot roll on any successful loot roll, for a chance at super rare items based on the creature killed.

  • KoboGobo Dungeon Changes!
    • Quest reward has changed to be more useful for any class, rather than specific ones.
    • Fixed the appearance issues of the High Priest, both physical and spawn failure (no more failure)
    • Old quest has been switched over to the new, updated scripts and given a facelift with the color coding, etc.
    • There will still be a few more fixes to come later on.
  • Cape Slakh Rejuvenation Completed!
    • The final revamped area of Cape Slakh has been added: The Den of Webs.
    • New quest available for level 4-5 (right after the Sewers as an alternative to the GoboKobo caves).
    • Questline has not one but two possible ways for you to complete the quest, you get to choose!

Misc Changes:
  • Alterations to glm_jellysplit to allow for Local Int limitation of splitting amount.
  • PLC additions for archery targets.
  • Added "Invisible" Companion Template for Bottle Companion request options.
  • Update to ds_bank_ini to make the Bank conversations silent.
  • Fixed typo in quest text for Life of a Sewer Cleaner.
  • Changes to Quest Journal as required for Kobo/Gobo caves, Cape Slakh and the start of Darkhold questline.

4.20d - Hotfix

Server A
  • Moved the idol of Tiamat that had previously been in the Cape Slakh caves.
  • Small OOC update to Ancient Mound Caves to reflect changes to Cape Slakh caves.
  • Fixed the premature completion of the Farmer's Favor quest journal entries.
  • Fixed a typo in the Children of Webs quest convo.

Misc Changes:
  • Removed old Kobold quest entry from ds_dm_tool and inc_ds_records.
  • Fix to ds_ai2_perceive to call the same script a second time after using %based ability to target properly.
  • Fix to i_qst_slakhitems to progress quest for all nearby party members and to remove all relevant items from them (they help with their items too).

  • Fix to the door in the Elder Brain room so people don't get stuck.
  • Clearer wording in the Slakh quest convo.
  • Removed triggers and waypoints from Forest of Despair: Ruins, as per plot changes.

  • OOCly moved the Forest of Despair ley node a bit, so as not to be completely ambushed by spawns.

  • Moved a few of the spawn points in Ancient Mount Trog caves to prevent mobs from getting stuck.
  • Updated Quagmire Kobold Store to accurately have the 10 stack supplies it was meant to.
  • Mushroom Fermenter added to Ghostly Kraken.
  • Fixed Underport Tailor to properly discount for fellow Drow.
  • Added Apprentice's Belt back to Kholigen and Underport mage stores.
  • Removed the camp from Moribund as per plot.

Server B
  • Removed PC starting equipment from Ghoul Warrior.
  • Improved CR on Ghoul Warrior and Ghoul to be level appropriate.
  • Added the map pin for the New Tunnels transition from L'Obsul Bottom.

Misc Changes:
  • Moved an idol that's been waiting awhile.
  • Fix to Sand Tracker PLC.
  • Added debug notations to the Triumvir and Tarkuul portal systems.
  • Bug fix in inc_ds_records for the drow starting point on A.
  • Spawnable chairs/stools/benches (Campers Paradise and Furniture objects that are sittable) will now spawn facing the same way as your PC's facing when the widget is used. This will make it easier to place these objects.
  • Boots of the Sun Soul properly removed from loot table now.
  • Added the Apprentice's Belt back into the pallet.

EDK has been re sized and re-named to properly reflect its new size and the existing stats to Summoned Dragon, Juvenile.

Nothing has changed but the name and the size.

  • Plot Updates to Tarkuul:
    • Tower of the Forsaken is now Open! (thanks to Numbers for his help with it)
    • Certain NPCs have undergone a change...
    • Added descriptive triggers to Velsharoon's temple based on PC efforts
    • Updates to Court of the Dead
    • Benches added to Court of the Undying
  • Added Water Purifer to Bendir Dale
  • New Quest for the Lowlands Swamp Trog lair through Lowlands Delta!
  • Small tweaks to the Trog lair itself for user friendliness
  • Updated Gibbering Maw journal entries
  • Plot update to Gates of Elysium in Underport
  • Additions for Arcanum plotline.

  • Update to inc_ds_records for both Cape Slakh quest (fix) and new Lowlands Swamp Trogs quest.
  • Added visible aura VFX to Invisibility Sphere to show radius
    • Note that aura will still be invisible to others without See Invis, etc. when active
  • The "Incoming Gate" that is produced by someone elsewhere using their portal wand to come to a location, is still spawned for the VFX, but is no longer clickable. ICly it never should have produced an "usable exit" like that anyway. (inc_ds_porting)
  • Changes to bd_darkconv, i_bg_spells and inc_func_classes to now apply Blackguard Aura of Despair on module entry and levelup if applicable
  • Custom AI additions:
    • Added Custom Auras function to creature AI based on local variables.
    • Added Custom Abilities (instant) to AI now, not just Custom Spells (cast time).
    • Added Random Per-Round ability functions to varry abilities used
  • Changes to Mords, GDispel, LesserResto, Resto, GResto, RaiseDead, Ressurect scripts as well as custom scripts.
