Herb Trader  T

Historical background

Traders needed to be wise in mathematics and negotiations. To trade goods and services a trader needed to build a list of customers. Once established he needed to maintain quality and timely service to keep them happy.
Most travelling merchants specialised in selling fruit, barley, hops or other commodities that could benefit a town or community. There was much competition in this trade and a ruthless manner was often held between rival merchants. Once the customer base was established it was important to maintain a decent business ethic. Merchants often grew to be very wealthy and retired with positions of title and rank.

How does it work?

Use your Job Log to spawn a Merchant Chest. This can be used by PCs to sell their surplus good (of the relevant category) to you in two ways:

People can sell off stuff all by themselves, like you do with NPC merchants. Money comes from nowhere and the merchant gets Rank * 5% of the price of the item. On bonus you get double. You also get 5% of the standard XP roll.

You can also spawn your chest and store stuff in it. You need to set your own price then, and you can take items out whenever you like. You get 15 slots to store items in, and each slot takes unlimited amounts of one type (so, you could store 15 types or metal, for example). You can sell your stuff to the system at any moment, which gains you the same rewards as above.

Mind that you only get 15 slots, no matter how many trading jobs you take. Taking multiple trading jobs just expands the number of commodities you can trade in.
