Trapper  F

Historical background

Animal trapping is perhaps one of the first methods of hunting. While trapping can be more time consuming then killing the animal, it is safer and still just as efficient. Trapping may be safe and inexpensive for the trapper. Trapping is regularly used as a form of pest control, most commonly being possums, racoons, foxes and other small animals that damage farmers crops. Trapping can be used as a safe way to get the animals pelts for trade or for food.

Common traps are the Pitfall Trap and Deadfall trap.

The Pitfall trap is a hole big enough for the animal to fall into, but too deep for it to get out. The hole is covered by a net and then leaves and forest duff for a more natural look, light bait can be added to the center for higher success of an animal to fall into it.

The Deadfall trap is a heavy rock or log that is tilted on an angle and held up with branches, one of them that serves as a trigger. When the animal moves the trigger which may have bait on or near it, the rock or log falls, crushing the animal.

How does it work?

Use your Job Log to place up to Rank traps. You can check these traps after cooldown time. A standard roll determines if you catch anything. Success gets you one hide and one chunk of meat.
